No respect for Tryndamere Players.

I dont care how high elo you got with him it means nothing. Hes probably one of the most cheesiest/unfair champions in the entire game.

Endless resourceless mobility/ endless resourceless sustain. Its a full time job trying to keep tryndamere off the minion line. Even with swain... E+Q every CD, it was so tiring with his sustain and mobility.

I guess next time ill just 100% ignore him and farm cs because its so pointless to harrass.

The hyperbole is strong in this thread.

"endless resourceless mobility" I think of Nidalee there.

Gorsz9 votes

Tryndamere goes twice the distance, so its comparable.

serpensortia14 votes

Twice the distance, sure. Three times the cooldown, though. They both have ways to reset it so don't bother mentioning that. Nidalee's is so much better at chasing, With Tryndamere, you wait for him to spin then CC or jump away and he can't touch you for 15 seconds. Nidalee still has ranged form.

At max CDR, Tryndamere's spin cooldown gets to less than 6 seconds (compared to Pounce's 5), and even without CDR it's 9 seconds at max rank. It's not hard for Tryndamere to get CDR without losing relevance—hell, between masteries, runes, and the first two items, AP Bruiser Tryndamere is maxed out on CDR faster than most mages, and he still puts out consistent sustained damage.

Couple that with Spinning Slash having better scaling and more (not to mention more reliable) wall-jump options than Pounce, Tryndamere is easily the more annoying to run from; I'd even consider it similar to running from a Kassadin.

Who is playing trynd as a ap bruiser? his normal builds have maybe 10% cdr tops.

I don't get why Trynd is even allowed to exist. I picked him up once cause I saw so many people play him and he was SO boring. Yes, you'll no doubt do good and you can 1v3 with that bullshit ultimate coupled with your bullshit sustain but he's so damn boring to play.

Resourceless sustain, doesn't even have to use health like Aatrox or Mundo. Insane scaling with crits. Insane slow and attack speed debuff. Insane juking ability with Q that allows him to even jump walls. Dumbass ult that makes him invincible leaving him with even more fury to use for his Q so he can survive just a bit longer even after the ult duration.

He'll 1v3 you and even if you use hard CC to lock him down, he'll just ult then kill all of you before your CC's Cooldown is done. If you're lucky, one of you will survive to kill him or a minion might kill him after he's done triple raping you and your team.

If you ignore him, he'll just split push to victory without his team and still get away with it, allowing his team to push down mid lane.

Tryndamere's weaknesses are not easily capitalized on by people who don't know what they're doing.

If you think he's boring, then that's too bad. I was going to tell you that playing a champion is the best way to learn to beat a champion. But sorry if not every champ in the league can be as mechanically intricate as Yasuo or Thresh. You know there's a reason for that, right? Because 55% of all Yasuo players are bad at him. They can't even properly keep up with the mechanics well enough to play him. Hence we have simpler champions like Tryndamere. Great against silvers because silvers don't counter shit. Hell even golds don't know how to counter properly. I got to Plat with Annie mid and Sion support.

Shockforce6 votes

Yes and no. Tryndamere is definitely lower in mechanical intensity than Yasuo... well acually that may be wrong, Yasuo generally has the same amount of options, they are just flashier and have very apparent power spikes.

A fed Yasuo is going to disassemble someone in approximately the same way as a fed Trynamere.

But a closer comparison is probably to Thresh who I would have to say is more decisional intensive than "mechanic" intensive. A Thresh that knows when to throw a lantern/hook/flash engage is far superior one that always lands hooks.

High level Tryndamere play has a large number of decisions and nuances. It is rarely as simple as spin aa ult.

There is rage management, auto canceling(crit saving for csing), orb walking, backspin, map manipulation, healing timing, ult timing(requiring burst potential knowledge), csing ( his laning potential is low, if the opponent is losing in lane more than half the time it is because they are not abusing his weaknesses ), burst mitigation/cs spoiling with w and it goes on.

Pvt Yong Tai2 votes

Yes absolutely. That's what I wanted to say but if I used that as an argument I expected a "omg no he's ez mode no thought involved" so I didn't bother.

I play many many "low mechanics" champs. My mains are Warwick, Annie, Caitlyn, and Sion, and I find these types of champs WAY more fun than the "high mechanics" champs. I actually do think about all those things that you mentioned (varying more or less depending on champ), including other things like warding, roaming, keeping tabs on the map for others (usually the high mechanic champs who are too focused on pulling off combos rather than looking at their ward). Winning on a macro level is much more satisfying. Using fancy skills are cool (I guess), but manipulating and managing every small detail to beat players (and like this case, causing them to rage) even though they are mechanically more advanced than you are is the best feeling imo.

Which is why I'm sad that they're looking to rework a lot of these champions. These old champions of mine are all I have left. If they disappear then I'll be on my way out pretty soon.

Onegarion2 votes

I think the reason that people like those mechanically intensive champs is for what you say and the fact that if they are so mechanically intensive that your opponent now has to keep tabs on you as well.

So you take a dashing Yasuo. You have to focus on making sure you follow what he is doing as well as the others. It adds an extra element that lower Elo players especially don't get. Once you are wise to how yasuo plays it becomes more second nature and the same is true for the yasuo player. Earlier though its harder to keep up with what he is doing when you aren't use to him from a player or opponent standpoint. This is why I think Mechanically intensive champs are just as good as those who aren't

So take the Tryn/Yas comparison again. Tryn is simpler and more straight forward. Both you and your opponent know what he is going to do. Either run up and hit your face or spin up and hit your face. That is his goal. So there is less monitoring of a tryn player. Take the same matchup with a yas instead. Now you are watching where he dashes to and through to what he hits where he is going. You can tell after a huge dash train how good he is as a player usually. Yet you are still having to manage yas with his range Q as well if you aren't careful. This makes you have to focus more closely on what is going on in lane and less on the overall map even at high lvls, but the time paid attention is less because they are more attuned to it.

TLDR: while they both can accomplish the same thing I think mechanically intensive champs require more lane focus and less overall map focus compare to simpler champs.

Pvt Yong Tai1 votes

Yeah that's pretty true. I didn't really think of it that way.

Onegarion1 votes

The subtle differences are the best. Its kind of also the biggest difference between high elo and low elo with how they approach things. Its why many mechanically intensive champs are viewed rather OP and UP all at the same time by low elo players, but more linear/simpler champs like Tryn are beyond OP, but at higher lvls its the opposite or not the same degree.

its also how some of the simpler champs are more relevant longer because there is less chance for them to screw up again pushing them forward to low elo players.

To expand on your post (excellent, by the way), I believe that "crit saving", I think the term Riot used was "banking", was removed several patches ago.

Champions that counter Tryndamere:Jax Darius Volibear Nasus Renekton Riven Fiora Malphite plus anyone with range and/or CC

mADCs all have the same weaknesses, and their real big ones at that

doubleguac3 votes

I would disagree that Voli counters trynd. A huge percentage of the bear's damage is loaded onto an execute, which is countered by Trynd's invuln.

There are plenty of strong counters to tryndamere though. GP, for instance, craps on him in lane.

Onegarion1 votes

Its more that Voli can tank up the damage and still deal a lot of damage also that passive keeps him alive in a similar, albeit weaker way, to how tryn will stay alive. Overloaded damage won't beat tryn which is why most of the champs here have some sort of tankiness or CC (not sure About Fiora parry being CC though) to slow him down. Darius Volibear Nasus Renekton Malphite all can tank the damage an still deal it back to him to outlast his ult. Jax Riven can both CC him during it and Jax Fiora can both cancel out his AA eliminating some of his damage. A blade waltz on Tryn after he ults means his ult is just there to stall for extra time since Fiora can kind of keep up.

gubigubi1 votes

Trynd counters Fiora not the other way around :l!

Ad Astra per Asp1 votes

Of those nasus is probably the hardest counter there is, not only does trynd keeping the laning phase going forever grossly favor nasus but in team fights wither pretty much makes him worthless.

ReturnOfSamus8 votes

One time I had a platinum 4 Irelia on my team against a Silver 2 Tryndamere. The Tryndamere went all-in randomly at level 2 and got 4 crits from his passive, giving him first blood. That champion is so ridiculously volatile I wouldn't mind if Riot just removed him entirely. Too bad he's named after one of the original Rioters.

Narasimha1 votes

Did the Irelia not have her stun or something? Assuming she had her W, E, and doran's shield, she should have easily won that. Either she out in a point in Q too early, or the hyperbole is super strong here.

wolfax3 votes

And, ya know, removing a champion is the WORST idea ever. Seriously. It's been brought up a million times by no one besides people raging against a champion. If they removed Trynd could Trynd mains demand your main be banned because they don't like them?

Also, because crit is not enitrely random as you seem to think I'm going to call bull on your story. I'm thinking your Irelia was probably a boosted moron who didn't know what they were doing.

Bears Dont Care8 votes

Just pick Nasus. Farm your stacks, Q him in the face, then wither him and walk away. Q him in the face again and continue melee kiting him. Its hilarious.

xSwimmx7 votes

Trynd is beatable in lane. However, he is pretty cheese. Even if he loses lane and is behind it doesn't matter. You just split push turrets.

Also, then there are the team fights where Trynd can just spin into the enemy team and 2 shot the ADC and support. Of course you do what you can to save your ADC so you end up wasting all your CC focusing Trynd...Meanwhile there 4 other enemy teammates still.

I always get Nasus if I have to go vs Trynda top, or AD Sion (back when it was actually unkillable), or Volibear (Trynda thrives in being low HP, but Voli thrives when his foes are low HP as well), or, if I am feeling bouncy, Poppy. Tryndameres are usually expecting the enemy to run away, because their champion is quite strong in most 1v1s, but if someone bests them unexpectedly, they don't know what to do. Pantheon should also do a good job against Trynda, because of that 100% crit chance to low enemies. Still I wouldn't mind if he was removed. ^^

Knight SoIaire 3 votes

trynda is indeed a full cheese champion

he camps top winning 90% of the duels and running away from the remaining 10% then he scales quickly up so nobody can outrade him and even if you get 2 ppl you wont catch him so he camps that top and you have 2 options forsake top and try to win at mid forsake mid and send 2 ppl to defend the top lane without a chance to actualy kill or show off that rynda for more than 15 seconds (i assume that it takes 15 seconds to walk into jungle and lifesteal as trynd)

but thats not the chese of trynda, the chese is that even when he fails he doesnt just fall off or anything, so there is no real way of impairing him

if he has no ult then why not ?

if he has his ult fiddle wont even scratch the surface, while rammus needs to use his q to cvatch him, so trynda will just spin away and you did nothing

Fiddle doesn't know how to use Fear? Trynd ults with no HP to escape? Use an ignite and laugh.

Come on guys...besides just because your ult is up doesn't mean you should always get a guaranteed kill on someone.

Knight SoIaire 2 votes

but what if trynd uses ult, hits you couple of times and you DIE, fiddle is squishy and relies on sustain which is quite easily destroyed by trynds brute force your idea would only work if fiddle would be spoon fed by tryndas team and straight out 100 to 0 trynd while having zhonyas

CoolSpot21 votes

Silly guy i can beat tryn with fiddle while being ignited .

Tryn is only good for split pushing and he can't 1 vs 1 fiddle . Fiddles drain cooldown is extremely short so theres no window to kill him with auto attacks .

When Tryn splits i just go there with fiddle and push it until hes forced to fight with his team . Than I ulti and fear silence tryn and kill him and his team before he can even press his ulti .

Actually while fiddle is ignited he still heal so much that he can beat tryndamire .

DaSneakyGit3 votes

Any range with a mobility or CC or solid poke should have no issue keeping Trynd off the minion line.

As mentioned Nasus is a mean counter as well.

Ignites also own Trynd, at the very least you'll usually end up killing eachother if he ult dives.

Renegen2 votes

Tricks to beating Tryndamere:

  1. Dont fight him with full fury bar
  2. Deny him the ability to lifesteal/get fury by zoning him from minions
  3. small quick trades

If you chunk him somehow, he has to use his fury to heal, which means you can then move forward and zone him now that he has 0 fury. Is he OP with 2+ items? Yes but it takes him 15 minutes to get those unless you're bad.

Tryndamere They don't call me the noob stomper for nothing. He is hard to lane against but if you have enough cc in teamfights you will disable him...for a few seconds. Only way to kill is to stun/silence before he ults, but by then if you are melee and even he has probably killed you. He isn't that great at dueling Mundo/Irelia though.

Frikgeek1 votes

I hate laning against tryndamere because of the threat of his crits. He basically wins early laning based on RNG. He could outplay you or vice versa but it all comes down to how much he crits. It means that if you don't want to risk feeding him you basically have to avoid all trades, just because there's that slight chance he gets lucky and crits twice in a row.

Stars Shaper1 votes

I just hate him split pushing because usually the team can't move in a way to stop him and it all becomes a rush.
