Champion mastery

Please don't institute a time investment = accomplisment leader board. LoL is a fun game. The emphasis and incentives should be on playing and winning, not just logging in.

1. Champion masteries forego the experience from before champion mastery was inserted (not that big of a deal but still a reason)
2. There is already leaderboards for best lee na, best skarner eu etc.
3. Those leaderboards are based on skill. Mastery leaderboards will mean nothing since champion mastery doesnt show any implication of skill

Although I expect to see possible harassment towards people with the highest mastery on very hated champions (Teemo, Riven, Fizz, etc.)

One trick ponies are not an indication of skill in any level. And I certainly don't feel the need of a ladder to showcase all the proffecional Heimerdinger, Yasuo and Shaco players thank you very much. All mastery shows is how much time you've wasted getting points just by playing a single champion without any connection to actual skill.

It'll be cool but that can possible defeat the purpose of the ranked leaderboards, where you have people looking at that more than ranked. ultimately, that only shows how long you played that champion, not necessarily how many wins you have or how skilled you are at the game.

That would be pretty great, especially if they had it broken up into ranks so you could see the highest mastery for a champ in unranked, bronze, etc up to challenger.

I can imagine like number 1 zed gets a friend request from someone random (number 2 zed) to be invited to a game in a 1v1 in the howling abyss for the quest to be the best zed player in the region or the world. Then they either do it in a best of 1/3/5 and just keep going. LOL

You can look at who is considered the best at X champion in the world, as well as who's the biggest enthusiast. Currently Sheriff Buford sits around 1.5m score with mundo

For a moment I thought this sounded kind of cool. But then I thought about it a little more and honestly I don't think it would result in positive things and could easily result in negative things.

I could see it being fun if more is done with it than just a leader board. What if the top 5 for each champion per region per division each month get a special mastery emote for that champion that replaces the lvl 5 emote for the entire next month? It could be as simple as the up close picture Riot already uses for that champion's face in champ select but with a sweet decoration similar (but more bad ass) to the chevron and wings we have now for mastery emotes going around the champion's picture.

Leaderboard for what..... The most champ played per player? Champion mastery doesn't say you are good it says you played the champion a lot.

I can see bronze 5 Teemo being # 1 on the boards.

The game has been around to long to implement something like that. Maybe when it was first starting out they could of added a leader board. They'll just get burned if they take the time to do this now. You know how people are.
