Will running Crit Chance reds and quints on Ashe make her deal more damage than AD reds and quints?

Because i have a full set of crit runes and I need an excuse to use them.

it's just as with crit chance vs ad on every champ(just flattend out rather than randomized in spikes) In the early, ad is better, in the late(especially after IE) crit chance scales better. actually, crit chance runes are probably worse on ashe than on anyone else, cause 1 lucky crit in a trade can win lane for you, no matter if it's weaker than ad in average. If it's flattend out like in ashes case, it's really just for lategame as you can't get a lucky shot to overcome the theoretical disadvantage in the early.

In the right lane matchup, however, it could turn you into hypercarry Jesus. Who even knows, at this point. If the PBE had updated earlier in the day, I would have jumped on and tested something like this :/

gonna guess NO for early game and YES for late

wow, that's actually a very good question

we don't have the numbers yet so the best answer currently is mayby. but lets look at it and what would bee needed for it to be more effective

2.25 * 3 = 6.75 AD for quints .95 * 9 = 8.55 AD for marks 15.3 AD from marks and quints

5.58 crit cance from 3 quints 8.37 crit from marks 13.95% total crit chance

48.238 +2.85*level AD

With AD level 1 51.088 + 15.3 66.388

With crit theoretical damage over 100 shots avrage damage per shot 51.088*1.1395 58.214

net difference of 8.17 at level 1 net difference of 6.185 at level 6 Net difference of 3.402 at level 13

Say Ashe gets 25% of her crit chance added on as AD then you get about 3.4875 more AD with crit chance runes making the net difference at level 1 4.685 Net difference at level 6 2.697 net difference of -.0852 at level 13 here crit chance would overcome flat AD with 25% of crit being added on as AD

So if it can bridge that gap well enough then it will be justified taking crit chance over flat AD.

But we do not know what this passive actually is so this is just a theory on how it will work.

Well Crit will almost certainly scale better as it is a multiplier while AD is just a flat boost So the more AD you get the better Crit will be compared to AD.... though of course this mean that Crit will almost always be worse in the early game... but well if you want to try and be a hyper carry or something it might work out if you play careful in the early game

The real question is for +crit damage runes.

Depending on the numbers of her passive, it might be some weird mix of AD, Crit%, and CritDmg. Who knows.

I think it starts at 10% bonus damage (Because the first hit will never "crit") and scales with something like 1% for each % crit chance As 1% crit gives you 1% increased DPS (over the long term if you just stand and auto attack) So in effect it will give the same damage over the long term

Though I am not sure how it would work with Crit damage

You have a crit page and don't use it for Yasuo?

Good, you're doing everyone in the game a service. We can all do our part in trying to keep Yasuo out of League of Legends.

Basically, it will be more reliable than before, but if you want early power, AD marks and quints will be better. If you want really strong (and now reliable) late game scaling, I would say run crit damage marks and quints. If you reach late game as Ashe with Crit damage runes (+34% crit damage) and have nearly 100% crit from a build like this: item 3031 item 3046 item 3046 item 3072 item 3035 item 3139, every AA against a slowed target will deal 1x1.1+1x0.9x1.84=275.6% total AD where not having the crit damage runes you instead would deal 245% total AD, or swapping out some crit damage for that last 10% crit would let you deal 1x1.1+1x1x1.59=269% AD each hit. Basically, runes will break down like this:

  • AD runes for strongest early game
  • Crit chance runes for strongest mid game
  • Crit damage runes for strongest late game
  • Scaling AD runes are inferior to flat AD for early game, crit chance for mid game, and crit damage for late game, but are generally average throughout the entire match

So in the end it comes down to personal preference, do you prefer strong early game trading, more mid game power and earlier access to your crit passive, or massive late game crits (with the build I suggested, standard ADC masteries, and crit damage marks and quints, every AA would deal over 1000 damage. 1000 damage! That and you have 1.8 AS and not even considering the new Q).

Basically, Ashe will be able to be either a strong early game champ like we're used to, or a superb DPS semi-hypercarry (only semi because she is immobile).
