Make Sona fun idea

Introduction Doesn't anyone else feel like Sona does too much damage for a support? And not nearly enough disabling? Don't get me wrong, this isn't about if she's balanced or not...I just don't think she's fun at the moment.

I like everything about her, except for 3 things. If I could change these 3 things, I would love Sona. Here's a few ways I'd like to suggest to change the way some of her stuff works.

Scenario 1 1 Passive(Power Chord): Q(Staccato). Instead of magic damage on her basic attack, a stun. It should be of short duration. 2 Passive(Power Chord): E(Forgot the name). Just leave it the same. 3 Ultimate(Crescendo): R(the active). Change the stun to a silence. Duration is subject to debate.

Scenario 2 1 Passive(Power Chord): Q(Staccato). Instead of magic damage on her basic attack, a stun. It should be of short duration. 2 Passive(Power Chord): E(Forgot the name). Instead of the slow on movement speed, give it a silence effect. Duration is subject to debate. 3 Ultimate(Crescendo): R(the active). Change the stun to a slow. Duration is subject to debate.

Scenario 3 1 Passive(Power Chord): Q(Staccato). Instead of magic damage on her basic attack, a silence. Duration is subject to debate. 2 Passive(Power Chord): E(Forgot the name). Change the slow to a stun. It should be of short duration. 3 Ultimate(Crescendo): R(the active). Change the stun to a slow. Duration is subject to debate.

Concluding thoughts Something is wrong when I feel more like a support when I'm going Trinity Force Udyr than when I go (insert AP item name here, I've tried them all) Sona.

Personally I think scenario 1 makes the most sense thematically, but scenario 2 might be better for balance and there are other scenarios which someone might prefer that are similar. Feel free to share your own. Scenario 3 is the same as 2 but with q and e switched around. It may not seem like it matters, but it does. If you use scenario 3 then you kind of copy Udyr's e ability.

Up Q mana, lower W mana. Q is the best spell for charging passive up already, which is part of the problem. QQQ is the most mana efficient way to build up Power Chord.

Yes, that would be great, too! It might make her too mana efficient against a mage like Zyra, but I think that's fair. The support should be able to punish the enemy dual lane for getting greedy with their damage. Sona can't do that, but others can.

Honestly, I think the ultimate should be left out of the debate. It's probably her most Iconic ability. (making everyone dance to her tune)

While I agree that he Q-powercord is a little meh, it what it offers as a support. I still feel like it should be her most offensive option. But turning it into a Stun is probably not the best option.

The Idea I considered (Keeping with her W and E debuffs) is that her Q Powercord should be a defense shred. Giving your ADC increased damage on a given target.

Sure, that would help with keeping her lane partner happy and maybe if they know they can do more damage with her around, they'll be more willing to follow her around. I can see that. Not a bad idea at all!

My issue with her ultimate is the cooldown for the active makes it feel like she just can't regularly disable the opponents which means any assassin or even a team with multiple assassins can just keep poking their head into her lane to bother them and she can't do much against them IMO. If we changed it to a silence or even a damage shred and gave her a stun on her Power Chord then we'd see that she can handle assassins knocking on bot lane's door(or just going after whoever in the late game and she tries to save them but can't) very often much easier.

So you want the musician to stop making people dancing? i hope riot doesn't listen to your idea.

Sona has one of the biggest dedicated player base, riot would have no reason to rework her to make her funnier.

Is this an anti-stun comment? Her ultimate does that. If it's about the silence countering dash abilities, then that makes more sense.

I think it's okay to add silence to her kit. I think it makes thematic sense for her Crescendo to give the silence effect instead of stun. If you think about it, aren't they practically the same thing in a crowd? I suppose a difference would be, they might shout if they are stunned, but wouldn't that make even less sense as it could show lack of respect for Sona's performance? Unless she was encouraging it. They are sitting in their chairs, so being silenced by awe makes total sense to me. Since she can't talk, she can't ask for them to make some noise.
