Rylais: The full situation.

Entire Champions were balanced around it. It was balanced.

And then the mage atrocity turned it into a cesspool of kiting and spammage with 100 AP.

Please, don't kill Mordekaiser for good just so Brand can enjoy not having counterplay.

Give Rylais back to the Champions who deserve it, who need it, who are balanced around it. Not the champions who exploit and abuse it.

There shouldn't even be a discussion about putting mana on an item whose main users never had mana. It's ridiculous. Rylais was never a mage item until the Mage atrocity forced it to be one. Make Rylais whole again and lower the AP back to a reasonable amount.

I say, remove the passive and replace it with an active to stop the spams. either that or overhaul the what champions can or cannot buy.

except item actives have cooldowns, and a mordekaiser with one slow every x amount of seconds isn't exactly the greatest :I

Make the slow dependant on range. At Mordekaiser and Rumble's effective range, it has the full 40% effect. It drops to a 10% slow at Cassiopeia's grounding ability range. 5% for that particular ability since it's already a halved slow. The slow flat out doesn't take effect at artillery mage ranges.

i agree, but what would the range on morde's ult/ his e and w be?

That does pose a problem. Giving Melee characters a higher base, or more likely, a more lenient curve on the slow.

For Melee champs, the Slow Gradient starts at 40% from range 600, and drops down to 10% at range 800. For Ranged champs, the Slow Gradient starts at 40% from range 400, and drops down to 10% at range 500

The idea should be that we shouldn't nerf the slow much, if at all for Morde, but cripple it's use in the hands of Cassiopeia.

I agree, Rylai's is pretty much considered core on just about every champion who scales on AP who doesn't already have a massive amount of cc in their kit already.

I wouldn't even be opposed to seeing it get the Spellblade treatment. Give it a 2 second delay (or longer) before the slow can be applied again.

Meh. how about just making it only apply to single-target spells. that would stop cassandra and brand from abusing it.
