Question about the minion dematerializer rune

You get 6 charges that instantly kill a minion and make you do 4% increased damage to that type of minion plus 1% per charge used on that type of minion

Could you, in theory, save all 6 charges for when an inhibitor goes down, pop all your charges on super minions and get super wave clear against them?

You could. I'm doubtful it'll be a good call often, or possibly ever, but it's certainly possible.

do you think waveclear could ever be a viable option for a class to be able to use the item system to opt into

like what if redemption could clear giant minion waves, it's probably be a cool late game macro item for support players, or it'd be broken and they'd be in every game

nullifying an inhib loss sounds far and away the most powerful use of the destabilizers

But that means getting absolutely no benefit from the Rune until then, and this one even has the added drawback of using one of your inventory slot. The opportunity cost of waiting until that "most powerful use" is too big.

its probably more useful to blow your materializers early on.

however kleptomacy could drop materializers later on in the game, that could be used in that manner, no?

Game plans that rely on being in a losing situation in order to lose slightly less are rarely good game plans.

You're probably more likely to get into that losing situation because of the choice (opponent has a rune they're getting use of presumably all game, while you're getting 0 benefit until your team is in a losing situation), when you could be using them on standard minions to achieve insta-clear damage break points sooner and pressuring your opponent that much more because of it.

Still. Good to know for trivia sake. Was half hoping it'd turn out that super minions are just super seige minions and share the damage boost, but I suppose they are pretty distinct units.

Maybe. That would be cool.

According to the pbe in game tooltip cannon minions and super minions are lumped into the same category "siege minions." So if you use one on a cannon minion early it'll help a bit versus supers later on.

You start the game with 6 in your inventory that are not usable until the 2nd wave comes to lane that can destroy one single targeted minion from long range. I was just testing it. It's not aoe like I initially presumed which would be hilariously game warping.

You can supposedly use all six on the first 6 cannon minions to never miss those and get 9% dmg versus "siege minions"

This Rune is a good idea with poor execution. It needs to be given a lower cooldown and the ability to do % dmg to jungle monsters then it will be viable in lane and in the jungle.
