Reply to Report Warnings

When a summoner gets a warning that his recent behavior is not in order:

He gets to replay and defend himself. Hi will have allowance of couple of lines to sum up what went wrong and why he got so many reports.

The reason for this is so the reported person wont feel so helpless and one side judged when reported. And also make at ease those new players that get spam reported in a single game just for trying out new champions.

Example case:

Just now I finished a forfeited normal game with a friend that is new to LoL and is learning, he just bought RekSai and was eager to try her out. He failed - could not level up in time but was doing very good escapes. I tried to keep up the mood up when our supp started picking up on him. And then i asked them politely to forgive him and if they feel the need to report some one it is supposed to be me, he is my friend irl and does not play so often , and i also explained that he is trying his best. But before the end our supp asked in /all "report vel and rek premade troll". At the end of the game I got a warning, when I talked with him on the phone he got one too. It wold have been nice to say back to who ever is reviewing those cases: "We are sorry for the BG but it was not on purpose, we tried our best".

This is just beautiful. Right now players have no defense if someone else feels entitled to report them, and with the system currently being largely automated in where it's dealing out punishment, you might get chat banned or otherwise put in a low priority queue for things that are entirely out of your control like an internet issue, or things you were trying to handle but just couldn't, like plain having a bad game.

Raging, flaming, cursing all up and down is still wrong, but then there's no defense for something like that. Someone who's just plain having a bad game but is still upbeat, or even apologetic doesn't deserve that sort of treatment. Much less so new players who are trying to learn and being slammed in the face with the worst parts of this community before they've even developed a real passion for the game.

Well u cant prove DC, but it would be nice to say stuff like: "I was trying a new build and things went south" Or "Im sorry i lost my cool, I should have just muted him". It does not mean that one will be pardoned, but it would be a nice relief i think.

the other day, ironically, this velkoz twitch combo were in a game with myself and 2 other randoms

The velkoz was flaming everyone like mad the entire fucking game, even though his twitch partner was 0-14 at one point, and since he never flamed his botlane partner who was 0-14, it's not exactly hard to figure out they were duo 20 minutes into the game, our toplaner politely asked the other team to report velkoz, even tho velkoz was flaming me the most for not doing so hot on jungle.

2 minutes before the 30-40 minutes loss ended, the velkoz said in all chat that the top, mid, and myself were flaming and shit talking him nonstop all game(fucking hypocritical liar), and incidentally he got 4 replies and i was reported after that game with a warning

I've basically stopped giving a fuck about chat restrictions or being reported anymore. Mainly because anyone I play with who is meaningful I'll be on TS/Mumble/Skype/RC with; and when I get reported for going 20-5 while winning the game and never having typed, and then the 3 of us got reported for the previous statement, i just don't give a fuck about Lyte's corrupt and broken system

Don't get so upset.

I know it looks very unfair at times but those troll reports wont have any consequences on your account. But they will get you to start behaving almost like that Vel u mentioned if u pay to much attention on them.

Believe me, this is my free-rotation-only ARAM account, till now i have 4 warnings received on it (all of them in won games) and i chat only when a fellow summoner asks a legit game related question like "Armor or MR?". I have never received a restriction on it for the 6 months i play on it.

I loved the old tribunal and I'v seen much cases like yours but none with a punish outcome.

Just do what you came for on the map - have fun. Don't fall for the provocations.

Its a great sentiment, but it has as much potential for harm as good. I mean, this has to be open to everyone, and NO ONE is going to say "Yeah, I Was trolling, just go ahead and ban me." The tribunal would literally be flooded by everyone saying "Hey, I just had a bad game/week/month, totally not on purpose, I was trying my absolute hardest!" And that would just desensitize the Tribunal to the ones that actually mean it.

I do not think that this would help the tribunal at all, my idea was not to help the tribunal make decisions.

Do you think that wrongly reported summoner is more prone to be toxic in his next match if he was wrongly accused for tolling And if so: would my suggestion for reply help them to relive their anger more easily and posibly prevent them to do a rage burst in their next game?

I felt less tolerant and much less communicative the next match after the case in my example. The idea is to help wrongly reported players to stay in good mood. To prevent toxicity from spreading.

For now when someone is wrongly reported, that warning just feels like bunch of unknowns on the internet point out a finger at you for something that you did not do.

Indeed, it does feel like you're immediately warned the moment someone reports you, even if you were reported for trolling....................in a game you were trying your god damn hardest but was counter-picked nonetheless.

I don't get the "no" vote(s). What could possibly be the issue with allowing a player to defend himself/herself? You afraid that report reviewers are gonna be like "OMG he wrote so badly I now have cancer"?

Seriously. How could this have any downsides?

A lot of things can make this just a spamming device:

It might get to spammed and reviewers will just start to ignore this statements.

And ur example is very much true on EU servers.

U get a warning summed from 3 matches in a row and u don't know why u ware reported on which match, so u write a wrong defense.

And the worse is : a toxic summoner thinking he got away by writing a good excuse continuing his toxicity until he gets himself restricted.

I don't know, someone else might have a better idea how to misuse this feature. But i still think it will do more good than bad, at least it wont feel one sided.

And to be honest the poll was just for provoking comments :D.

I would argue that no one is that stupid, but I've played LoL long enough to know otherwise. That being said most toxic players don't reform on their own anyway, so confidence from the ability to make excuses wouldn't have much, if any, impact.
