Non-meta picks can still be troll picks

So I get people wanting to break the mold and play non meta champs and builds, like Galio, Aatrox, Akali, or even Poppy. They have their strengths and when used well in a not horrendous match up they can carry just as most other champs can (which is the only times someone smart should take these kinds of picks, when they know they can do well in lane, or at least not get completely rekt). I mean hell Aatrox is still one of my mains and I generally do pretty damn well with him! So I get it, whether it's for the sake of playing a non meta champ you just really like or if you're trying to be "unique" or some shit and play something not many others do, that's still perfectly reasonable.

The problem is when you get useless shit like AP Shaco top, AD Braum jungle, tank Akali supp, ADC LeBlanc and other none sensical crap like that....

I've gotten into my gold 2 promos 4 times now, and each time my third and final promo game I've gotten something like this, those 4 examples I just gave are the 4 tards who I got stuck with. Being "unique" and playing something that is obviously horrible and rarely works and when it does it requires a lot of other pieces to fall together, and gambling like this in ranked is just fucking retarded and makes your teammates suffer. The best part of each of those picks for me is that every single one of them was duo Q with someone so I couldn't say shit or I get bombarded with harassment for "not having faith" in a 2/8/2 AP Shaco top, but also they picked these things later in champ select! Meaning they knew the match ups they were going into and every single one of them was an extremely unfavorable one! AP Shaco into a Malphite... tank Akali supp into a Braum.... and so on. Like match ups where stupid builds like these simply do not turn out well.

If this were normals, then sure w/e I'm cool with people experimenting, especially in blind pick, but in ranked? I checked each of their accounts too since they ALWAYS EVERY SINGLE TIME claim "oh we do this all the time and it totally works!" And yet according to lolNexus they rarely if ever do this and they have rarely if ever actually won with it....

I'm getting tired of going on winning streaks back into my gold 2 promos only to once again lose because of this complete bullshit. So to anyone thinking of or already doing this stupid shit.... stop! You're only gold, we're all only gold, you're simply not good enough to pull these kinds of things off on a regular basis, especially in very unfavorable match ups. If you're so die hard to be "unique" and "special," then play an actual non meta champ and get good with them. You'll still be regarded as that "unique" player you always want your friends and teammates to think you are, you just won't auto lose ranked games for everyone on your team anymore!

So stop being so completely selfish with your desires and stop screwing everyone on your team over cause of it, for the love of god just stop.....

people doing it in ranked is kinda wrong but in norms it should be fine

Exactly, I used to play play AP Rengar in normals all the time! Before the rework ofc.... and it worked out just fine a decent amount of times, I even hardcore carried with it plenty, but I had never and would never still to this day bring it into a ranked game, because there are always those games where these things JUST DO NOT WORK AT ALL!

These people need to learn that simple fact.

How dare those people play ad Braum jungle, everybody with half a brain knows on-hit jungle Braum is best Braum

Basically same thing, cause both just as useless, especially when even a flat tank Braum jungle has potential to scale well.

Sated Braum out duels most other sated junglers, that stun is ridiculous.

Also lighten up. Based on this I'm led to believe you go on tilt from these kinds of picks. A tilted player is worse than an off build champion.

So... you're saying you should practice a champ before using it in ranked?

What does that have to do with off-meta picks? This applies to every pick, meta or not. I've seen people in diamond+ maining AD Malz jungle and AP bruiser Trnd and freaking Urgot. Off-meta picks aren't the problem here; it's people not practicing their picks before entering ranked.

That is not what I said, at any point in the entire OP at all.....

Did you even read it or get like a sentence in an assume this is what I was going to say?

I assumed you trying to make a half-legitimate point; not just "Some off-meta picks are stupid don't ever play them". Who cares if one of your teammates played AP Shaco top? Shaclone is a high ranked Shaco player that does that exact thing sometimes. And Malphite is a good opponent to do that against, since Malph wants to stack armor, not MR.

If those same players picked legitimate meta picks and still did badly, would that change anything? It's not your teammates picking off meta that's the problem here, it's them not practicing their picks.

Again you barely read anything..... are you even trying or you just here to argue for the sake of arguing?

If you HAD in fact read everything I said those kinds of builds in normals is fine cause no one should care and they can be fun, but in ranked they are far too unreliable and so easily made completely useless. It never said "don't ever play them anywhere."

I also made note that we're not high ranking players who play a certain strange build all the time, like the one example you use, they're people just picking random shit for the sake of picking random shit they saw on the internet or played a couple times. If they are seriously good enough to play something as dumb as that and win consistently then they wouldn't still be in gold or plat.

Also Malph fucks on AP shaco, even if he does have to build that one MR item first it doesn't deter him much. Shaco does laughable damage to him at higher mana costs and it's dangerous for the Shaco to farm close to the Malph since it's easy for him to out trade Shaco at close ranges. Then ofc the one shot with his ult on the squishy Shaco that he must dodge or die, while Shaco's is more of a bait or escape when it's AP, not too mention team usefulness is drastically different between the two of them.

Finally, again you missed the very important part where I said I'm fine with off meta picks, even in ranked, it's these sub optimal and very gimmicky alternate builds that create problems, not off meta in general. I made that very clear very early on.

Welcome to ranked, where Riot doesn't know what trolling means.
