So basically no matter how well you play or how well you've done your job in your role, if you're not a meta pick a lost game is your fault no matter what. Just had a game as Aatrox jungle and I got two kills bot lane as soon as I hit lvl 3 and then went back and got one for my ADC. Meanwhile mid is losing 1v1 and top gets ganked cause he's literally at the enemy tower with no wards.

Bot then somehow goes like 2/12 together in under 10 mins without the enemy jungler having to do anything..... I go top some more cause my top laner is crying non-stop for ganks... and mid keeps losing 1v1 then ganks ganked twice ina row and claims he's been ganked 8 times.

Guess what, we lost cause I played Aatrox, not cause bot got crushed even though I got them ahead, not cause my mid laner kept dying 1v1, and not cause our top laner is a blind bat. Nope, I picked a non-meta champ so it's my fault.........

Lesson to learn form this? Fuck crybabies, mute everyone, and do your best anyways, cause only playing the meta is boring as shit and I've climbed to plat a number of times without relying on it and I will again. But you will ALWAYS be blamed for loses, it's unavoidable it seems, this community is just far too toxic.

Aatrox jg isn't even that far from meta.

Still, if you play something off-meta, your performance to the community doesn't matter unless you absolutely carry, so you need to brace yourself. Even if you do 'good', you may have tilted a random teammate through your 'troll' pick, and hence you are the reason they're being solo killed repeatedly. (I don't necessarily think this is legitimate, but people will place that sort of blame.)

It's not even if you aren't playing the meta. If you aren't playing the meta the people in your game want, then it's your fault.

"Don't play Vi, Lee Sin is better." The enemy team has a Yasuo top, Katarina Mid, and Ezreal ADC, unless you plan to pick Malzahar or Lissandra Mid and help me lock one of those people down and kill them, I'm picking Vi.

"Someone swap with me, I don't like mage supports." We have a Pantheon Top, Lee Sin Jungle, Zed Mid, and Caitlyn ADC. I really don't care what you like or not cause I want to have some AP in this team comp.

"GG, jungler never ganks." I'M A PRE-6 WARWICK/MALPHITE/SHYVANA/MASTER YI. Do you want me to walk into lane and run menacingly at them which will accomplish nothing except waste time I could be using to get to 6?

"Enemy laner is 6/0, jungler come gank." All that will accomplish is that this enemy laner will get a double kill. Instead, how about I get this non-feeding lane some kills so hopefully they can carry you.

Everything is your fault anyway, you cant ever do well enough when some brat trash is on the warpath for someone to blame for their failures. /ignore @champion and proceed to "steal" all their kills and carry.

I know how you feel, I hardly ever play champions considered "meta"

Right now I'm LOVING Yorick, having a massive amount of fun on him, but half the time if I even show him in pick intent my team instantly bans him because they don't want me playing a "trash" champion even though I carry with Yorick often.

And if we lose the game it was my fault for going yorick and not a "real" top laner such as Darius, Garen, or GP.

Sometimes my jungle flat out refuses to ever gank my lane because I'm trolling simply by playing Yorick, especially if I lose lane due to either being camped, being against a bad match-up, or simply playing badly.

Honestly though, it all simply comes down to; people just need something to troll. It usually doesn't matter what it is, they could try to troll your items even if your build is fine (I've been told I'm a retarded autistic %%%got for building Rod of Ages on Brand before.) That's really all it comes down to, people looking for ammo to try to troll. That's it.

This is why I have trouble playing Ivern I main him now but people really like to blame me because he isent the kind of jungle to show up and instagib your lane opponent like some one cough Rengar cough. I can go 1/1/32 and get no recognition or so much as a thank you and the moment a lane loses it's "man I wish we had a decent jungler", "this idiot picked ivern" etc.

Edit: I main Akali btw. (Been playing a lot of Fiora tho because she's a lot more reliable than akali rn.)

I hate those people too. I was playing Nasus ADC a few months ago for fun in normals, and despite me killing the enemy Jinx twice my Tahm Kench support flamed the entire game and started trolling. We probably could have won that game too, but Tahm's trolling meant that we had no chance, even though I actually didn't do too bad. It's happened when i played other things like Brand jungle, Maokai support and crap like that.

The thing that pisses me off the most is when they say "I told you it doesn't work". dude it's 1 game, maybe the matchup was bad, the build was wrong, etc. There isn't a single meta champion that wins every matchup so the fact that people like that think Off Meta picks have to dominate every time is just stupid. Strangely enough the high elo players i meet in normals seem to give off meta stuff a chance while low elo players are the ones flaming me hardcore.

The Jungler is the most important role in the game right now, they basically decide the game. Whoever is more active around the map (but mostly bot lane) will setup the game in their favor. It doesn't matter what Jungler you are, if you were getting kills/assists around the map more than the other Jungler, you were performing your job. People are meta sheep and don't understand that the meta picks are strong because they are strong at high elo's where players can utilize their strengths properly. At lower elos it isn't as big because most of the time the players don't know how to use those champions to their fullest. Some are stronger in lower elos than at higher elos, like Darius, but overall you can play whatever you are comfortable with as long as you don't under-perform consistently (yasuo "mains" at low elo...). Another exception to the "meta" is one-tricks or mains who play 1 (OTP) or 1-2 (mains) champions in every role. They know the champion so well they are usually able to compete with the stronger champions, although I do think this has a limit.

I remember a game where I was playing Vayne top, I absorbed most of their jungles pressure because well... I was a Vayne on the top lane, anyone with half a brain would camp me, went even with a few kills, shined in the mid game (that was before the crit Vayne build), took top and mid all the way to their base, took the two nexus turrets, couldn't finish the game but I opened it enough that we could end it when I respawned, but what my team does? They start a 5 v 4, obviously they lose said fight without killing anyone, the enemy team does baron, pushes mid and because I wasn't capable of killing all 5 of them by myself, it was my fault and mine alone that we lost that game, it was just a normal game so I didn't mind the rage, but the level of denial on some people still baffles me to this day.

Their reasoning must be something like, "If he's that good with Aatrox, surely he could carry our sorry asses with a better champion!" And they go on to ignore the fact that this is a team game.

Bullshit.

I just played Skarner and no one said anything negative, even though my performance was weak. I play Taric who is severely overnerfed and no one said anything negative (Other than I'm gay but I'm okay with that as Taric). I played jungle/support Nautilus and no one said anything negative.

What YOU op are arguing, is that you want to TROLL PICK and have no one call you on it, that's not going to happen because trolling is a bad thing. It's not complicated.

You want to pick your little troll AD Crittle sticks, go for it , but keep that out of ranked or you will get justifiably reported for your trolling.
