If you join a match and the enemy team is down a person, if it's ranked sure take advantage that's understandable, but don't act like self righteous pieces of trash and just shit talk the enemy team the whole game.

if you do this kind of thing, kicking someone while they're down, then you're a pathetic person in general, doesn't matter that this is just a game, if you act like that at all to anyone then that's a serious character flaw in everything and you need to grow the f*ck up.

if u afk in ranked there should be a 24 ban from ranked only. and if your team loses due to an afk on your team making it 4 v 5 then its loss forgiven. with no loss of lp. the person who afks eats 30 a loss of lp and the player can go negative lp as a result of the punishment. that makes them have to get wins to get to even. if u play a ranked and knowingly do it on a poor connection then u deserve the report. if u go afk for 15+ minutes due to windows updates. lap top running out of battery is another reportable afk in ranked. lastly do not play this game on a mctoaster. repeat afks for player make the punishment harsher and the penalties double.

agreed. so sad when people try to punish you for being 4v5. not even game-wise, like, whatever. have fun winning with your handicap, but damn you must be a frustrated person to pull some shit like that. Unless it's in the spirit of "4v5 is dumb, lets go 5 mid and end this asap."

short story you might like...it was a 4v5, I was lucian bot lane solo vs vayne/thresh. Thresh was cool and was like "yeah man take some CS i won't hook." so being my stupid trusting self i listen to him, walk up to kill a juicy little melee creep...BAM instant condemn into the wall. (although thresh stayed out of this ..respect). Anyway i did what i could to farm under turret and stay safe. Didn't give up a kill to them, and actually we picked up a clean 2 kills when jungle ganked. As the game progressed and typical lane phase dissolved, I managed to get my CS higher than vain's 8) Finally...around 35-40~mins in, our BLITZ RECONNECTS. We proceed to end the game within 5 minutes :D Vayne was talking some shit throughout the match...i forget this particular tryhard's motto, typical stupid cocky shit (clearly not in jest), but dammit I threw her motto in her face as the nexus exploded. Felt amazing.

Well maybe the nid is a jerk but I always say gg unless it was a bad game where people flamed or the game was so one sided bc of an afk that the enemy just said push mid and end before 20.

Some of the best games I have had were 4v5, yeah it was pretty much a loss from the gates with an afk, but seeing a team group early and put up a fight or sneak objectives/out rotate, well that's awesome. Instead of just giving up bc 4v5 a team tries to get the most out of it and at least try to make it fun still that is definitely a good game in my opinion.

Under specific circumstances, ofcourse. Then there are times when instead of working together(I've won a ranked 4vs5 thanks to teamwork) everyone flames and complains for the whole game, blaming eachother looking for every single excuse they can get to shit-talk. In addition, saying gg all the time kinda loses its purpose after a while. Saying gg is a sign of sportsmanship, good gameplay and social interaction. When you're feeling misserable and got stomped for whatever the reason was or had to put-up with some sort of toxic behaviour that ruined it for everyone saying GG is pretty darn pointless and ruins the meaning of healthy competition. Ofcourse all that's my personal opinion and subject to debate.

Yeah I need to get better about that honestly. I have been working on saying sorry if the enemy had someone raging in all chat or if it was a blow out bc of feeder or something. I probably still use gg as just sort of standard end game response like slapping hands after a spots game.

Let me say that I would NEVER do this and I HATE people that do, but..... It probably does a good job of frustrating the 4 into making it harder to win an already uneven matchup because of the increase in sodium.

It's not psychological warfare, this isn't a comic book where the sly hero must provoke the villain into petty rage so that he can get the upper hand. When somebody trashtalks me when my team is in the shitter due to a quitter, I don't go "RARGH I HATE THAT GUY IMMA BUMRUSH HIS ENTIRE TEAM", I just look down on him, because his life is so miserable and devoid of success that he must take immense pride into winning a slanted match in a video game.

Like I said in my original post, I don't do this. The point is the more frustrated people are the more likely they are to make a mistake. I didn't say it was an honorable think to do. I even said I hate people that do it but it's a fact that demoralizing people can cause them to perform poorly whether you want to admit it or not is irrelevant.

Just won a 4v5 where the enemy team were trying to trash talk... poorly...

Our team responded just as poorly...

The only insult used was, "Idiots" about 35 times during the match. Everytime somebody died, one side had one guy say it. Their Lee ended up selling all his items and buying 6 boots at 40 minutes, right before we pushed 4 down mid and back-to-back aced them for the victory.

It wasn't that fun.

This reminds me of the other day when our support didn't connect at the beginning, so our ADC was forced to 1v2 for the entirety of laning phase. Everyone on the enemy team trash talked and had the nerve to ask if it was his/her first time.

I've been on the 4v5 side, and somehow won later on after the 5th member finally connected. I was also on the side that was 5v3 last night where the last two players eventually joined the game. We were actually struggling even when it was still 5v4 and almost managed to lose, but barely won in a long game.

You never know what's going to happen. It's best not to trash talk the other team and wind up looking stupid in the end if you manage to throw the game and lose.

Don't really get much shit talking in the higher elos outside of humor in EUW/KR. In NA its kind of random since master tier put alot of d5's in d3 and d1's in d3-d1.. its just stupid how messed up high elo is not a lot of all chat shit talkers in NA but there are just as many trolls as any other server for better or worse I guess.

Not to mention elo clamping from master tier being established on plat 1-d1

Hey, just in case you didn't realize... Exactly half of EVERY server is under 50% winrate accounts. Because for every game someone wins, another loses. The average across the whole system is 50%, because in every game, 50% of players win and 50% lose.

That's not quite true. In a simulation, with 100 games played on a 100 player pool, I am getting average win rates between 48% and 52%. If you don't believe me, download my spreadsheet and click the blue PLAY box a few times. Sometimes it'll be 50% but it's not that common. The red text in cell A1 is the average win rate over the player pool.

Well, if you weight the average it will be exactly 50% (unless i'm missing something here). For example:

Player 1 plays 10 games goes 7-3 Player 2 8 games 5-3 Player 3 12 games 3-9

weighted average = [10 x (7/10) + 8 x (5/8) + 12 x (3/12)]/30 = (7+5+3)/30 = 1/2

Yeah i dont really know what my point is here... its kind of irrelevant but i typed this up so i guess i'll leave it here.

The way it was worded creates some bias.

For example, Player 1 goes 5-0 Player 2 goes 2-4 Player 3 goes 1-4

The combined score is 8-8. The average winrate is around 58%, but the amount of players who have a 50% winrate is only 33%.

He's talking about server win rate, not individual win rate.

Example: If Player 1 wins (1-0), enemy player 2 loses (0-1). The next game, player 1 wins (2-0) and say enemy player 3 loses (0-1). In the third game, player 1 wins again (3-0), and enemy player 4 loses (0-1).

So player 1 (as an individual) has 100% win rate, but everyone else has 0% win rate. Either way, the server has stayed at a 50% win rate, because someone won 3 times, and someone lost 3 times.

But just because someone has a 60% win rate, doesn't mean someone has to have 40%. That would imply the 40% player ONLY played against the 60% player, which isn't likely. Its more logical to assume some players have 1 - 40% win rates, and those massive losses equates to unbalanced (high) win rates for some people.

That was constructive, but for your sake ill say it a better way.

When every little thing gets under a persons skin, it becomes a community that spends more time walking on eggshells for fear of offending than actually playing the game. It is a video game - expect people to take their advantage and run with it, expect people to trash talk sometimes, expect people to even be dicks occasionally, and don't whine about it.

I can make it more constructive for you if you like - If you whine about something somebody did to get under your skin, you give them the fuel they desire to keep doing it. If you stop making a fuss about it, people will stop bothering to do it.

It is common courtesy to not try to win in a competitive game? Why would i log in for the sole purpose of giving my enemies a chance? It's silly and right up there with little leagues not keeping score. I'm not gonna give a 4v5 a chance to win only to have the missing player return and my team get creamed.

If you have an issue with the mismatched team of a 4v5, your issue is with your teammate and riot, not with me trying to win. But for that to be such a problem that one would complain about it is ridiculous. To complain that someone tries to win in a competitive game is asinine.
