I don't think I understand CotC nerfs fully.

I understand Poppy, Heca and other abusers, But why can't you nerf them accordingly and keep it stronger for others, Personally I quite like taking it on Riven as a defensive-safer option to Thunderlords/fervor and helps trades alot vs toplane bullies like Darius. I just don't understand why you come out with a new mastery, just to nerf IT into the ground because of certain champs abusing the shield, atleast with the base amount going from 10+10 a level to 3+3 a level, all the people who abuse it stack health anyways.

All I know is I hope it stays as an option for Riven, as I do know a Rioter does aswell. (Saw a Red post about wanting Riven to have 3 options with Cotc,Fervor and Thunderlords.)

I personally hope it doesn't stay a great option for Riven because she's supposed to be somewhat squishy in fights.

It's getting nerfed because it isn't the champions causing the problems. It completely outscales every other keystone, as it stands now, if you don't pick CotC you are simply gimping yourself. Hell, it's so good, I've debated giving up DFT on Swain, because a 2-3 man root shield could last long enough for me to heal back up under it.

riven has legit become a close to impossible matchup playing on garen right now.

yes, you read that correctly. its not like shes going to kill you if you dont make a major mistake, but you cant really take a favourable trade against her anymore either. its not that difficult to go even in that lane, but it became close to impossible to actually win it.

between his trashed early game, the nerfed silence, and her e and the coc shield i feel like i have no option fighting her anymore. she can absorb all damage i could deal to her in a trade by rotating shields.

she dashes out of decisive strikes animation, cancels it with her w, it doesnt matter. in both cases she absorbs it with a shield, and then has another shield availbable to absorb follow up damage like the spin, while she still deals damage and can trade back with her q. its pretty ridiculous right now.

playing against a decent riven with coc is absolute cancer.
