He has an amazing teamfight ultimate, he's annoyingly mobile, lots of CC, ranged, and most importantly, MANALESS. Especially with the recent mana-regen nerfs, Kennen should really be making a comeback.
I wouldn't be surprised that someone in LCS will eventually pick Kennen as a solo-laner because he's really not all that bad.
The Whamboozler2 votesHe's been in the LCS tons dude... are you high? I just watched him top in an SK game.
X8ViEhkPS01 votesHe fell out of favor because they nerfed his base AD. At the time his high AD allowed him to out bully Renekton, and they lowered the duration on which his marks of the storm persist on champs.
But you know when the game changes over two years all of his competition starts to dwindle, and he will come back on top.
Mandang01 votesHe received a lot of nerfs, not the least of which was an autoattack range nerf. Additionally, Doran's shield was strong for a time & the introduction of cowl really helps enemy laners survive his early(ish) harass.
As far as "manaless" goes, his resource is more limiting than most (all?) manaless champs', and is actually a burden come teamfights.
The reason he's possibly back now (still haven't seen any), is because he got a nice QoL buff on his W's interaction with his ult.

The buff is so good, you no longer have to wait for enemies to get hit by your ulti to W them, overall it bursts them down so much quicker it's wonderful :D
