Is there a point in IP Boosts?

So for example, if i wanted to buy a champ, wouldn't i want to buy that champ with RP rather than buying an RP boost? I feel like it would be cheaper.

Well, IP boosts can be worth a ton of IP if you can play all day. I recommend just doing the math on it. Calculate how many games you play, average IP earned (depends on the types of games you play), how many games per day, and figure out whether a timed boost or a game-count boost would net you more IP, then compare how many champs you can buy with that amount of IP with how much RP the boost costs.

You can only buy runes with IP for example, so you might want to use RP to buy an IP boost in order to buy runes faster.

IP boost for 24 hrs might result in more IP for your RP if you play enough, so you might be able to get the champ you want+have bonus IP for future champs/runes.

You might be on a budget and can afford enough RP for an IP boost but not enough to buy the champ outright, so you might want to essentially pay partial with RP via the ip boost and the rest with the IP you already had.
