Veigar Buff Idea

Veigar is an evil and demented yordle. He loves laughing at others suffer... but he can't when his caged enemies avoid his blasts of dark matter or blink out of his cage :,c

Idea- Veigar gains bonus effects on his spells when they are shot inside his cage, depending on how many Q stacks he has.

At 150 stacks(~25 mins): When Baleful Strike is cast through the cage walls(even when appearing), it stuns the first target hit for 1/1/1.25/1.5/1.5 seconds(Depending on E's level) . When it hits the wall of the stun, the missile slows to a speed of 1500. (Currently it's 2000)(Morgana's is 1200)

If players survive this stun, they can break free of Veigar's Event Horizon by moving out of the walls. Instead of being stunned, they are slowed by a rapidly decaying 50% for .5 seconds.

At 250 stacks(~35 mins): When Dark Matter lands inside his cage(must be fully formed), it damages in a 160 unit radius, instead of 114. Veigar also laughs maniacally whenever he kills a champion. (OMG TOO OP RITO NERF PLS)

At 325 stacks(~45-55 mins): Veigar gains enlarged size and 20 MR. (OMG HES NOT SHORT ANYMORE!)

At 9000000000 stacks(~0 mins): Veigar gets a decakill every 2 seconds. Allies die also. An invisible teemo dies also.

Just some ideas made for fun :P

I'm conflicted. On the one hand I don't want another stacking mechanic even though i know he already stacks, sorta. Yet these would be excellent buffs for him.

I think all in all i'm for this. I just have one question, since i don't play veigar much I want to know, Are there realistic goals for him?

Quite nice ideas imo

At 325 stacks: Veigar laughs maniacally whenever he kills a champion.

I think that's too op though.

To be honest, this sounds really cool. However, while I can agree that Veigar is far from a strong pick atm, I don't see how one can buff him; when he is ahead (or reaches late game relatively unscathed), there is little to no counterplay against him; especially given a team comp that can lock down opponents for easy W's.

His stun (which is around an 8 second cooldown) results in the death an an opponent, whether it be by stunning them, trapping them, or zoning them. He hard counters any AP pick come late game. Again, I fully recognize that I'm complaining about Veigar, but I have seen what he is capable of late game, especially with his longer ranged Q; giving him easy access to his late game would be akin to giving cass max passive stacks early in the game; they struggle early for a reason.

To respond to your ideas more specifically, however, you realize that at the first level, Veigar will be able to get two Q stuns off for every E; ignoring the E itself. That is actually a HUGE amount of power.

I'm not a programmer, but I don't know how one would code the logic for your second stack upgrade; it seems to me that it would be a completely unfeasible task.

All in all, with AP item changes coming as well as Veigar's incredibly powerful late game, I would be very apprehensive about giving him any buffs.

As a Veigar main (well in normals), slowly introducing him in my rank games. I think that Veigar is good where he is right now, especially with the 5.13 patch change to the Death cap.

I feel that the stunning when you cast Baleful Strike through Even Horizon is a fantastic idea, but It might be too over powered. As any skilled Veigar player can cast Q then E while the missile is traveling, and with some practice at max rank E Veigar can easily stun people.

The 250 stack idea would give Veigar's W almost 3~4 times the area coverage. At this point, Veigar wouldn't even have to land his E anymore as any enemy trapped cannot dash out, taking unavoidable damage from a truck. (unless you have spell shield or burn flash)

The 325 stack idea is pretty cool. I sometimes by Elixir of Iron in normals for fun just to have a slightly less Veigar running around.

I usually hit 200 stacks at around 23 minutes from kills and farm and 350 at around 35 minutes if the game goes well. And 9000000000 stacks at about 50 minutes because I am secretly Challenjour.

OVERALL: I really like these ideas, but these changes would decrease the skill floor of Veigar and make him too powerful in the hands of veterans. Then rito might have to "rework him" again.

I have logged in to upvote because this is needed. Rito has majorly nerfed veigar quite a bit but hasn't given too much of a buff. Other champions made a comeback when they were nerfed to the ground due to buffs, still waiting for this to happen for veigar!

Not sure i agree with the Q stun but i do think that if you use Dark Matter within the cage, it should do damage to everything inside it regardless of the damage radius of the spell. That'll teach them for dancing and spamming laugh when they get caught inside it but are not stunned.

No just no stahp he's fine where he is

his Q stunning inside the cage? what's the point of that? i do agree that veigar should really have the advantage when he has you in his cage

I like the 250 stacks (tactical nuke inbound lategame), but any more and people probably won't get it. I mean, I farm diligently with Veigar and end game I don't have much more then 250.

People complain about Veigar, but with the new AP item changes, everyone else will have more AP in their builds... thus making it even easier to kill.

I don't think Veigar needs any buffs at all. I played my first game with veigar since the rework today, and I loved him. I had been dissuaded by everyone saying he's useless, but I went 7/0/7 into Ekko and they surrendered at ~20mins.

If they reduced the land time on his W, he would be fine.

My only real issue with Veig right now is his ult is too hard to land. If you get in range to ult you had better have just landed your stun or have Flash up, because otherwise you're going to die. I'm talking about team fights of course, he's not bad in skirmishes. Maybe ulting someone inside his cage should result in the stun being applied the same as if they had stood on the edge or something? I dunno, I love the dude but I'm increasingly playing against better players now and they just laugh when I try to sneak in an ult and gun me down. It's depressing.
