Zac feels terrible to play

I mained zac top back in season 3 (even before riot's random decision to change SV which managed to get him gutted) and had a lot of fun but I won't play him at all now. Not just because he's bad (which he is with a <45% winrate in diamond despite never being played) but because his passive feels clunky and terrible.

I understand the gameplay reasons for wanting his blobs to have more counterplay. But it's completely ridiculous and unfun to actively hurl your hp at your opponent's feet every time you use a skill. I'll be sitting there sustaining, spamming my skills on creeps and picking up the blobs that fall relatively close beside me. But then an enemy walks up and instead of having my blobs keep falling in the same pattern they start being flung towards my opponent. It's incredibly immersion breaking and just makes me think "why am I playing this terrible champion with an intentionally gimped passive that is actually a negative until he's at low health?" Again, this isn't a power complaint. It might feel less gimped if the blobs landed closer to zac but it would still be stupid that the mere presence of an enemy has zac changing his behavior suboptimally.

As for suggestions: My favorite possibility is throwing out multiple smaller blobs in opposite directions (similar to when zac dies) so that there are still blobs contestable by your opponent but you don't have the "this is stupid" feeling from zac throwing blobs solely in the direction of someone who wants to step on them. Frankly, I think even removing the blob passive and replacing it with smaller passive regen or some other compensation would also be better than what you have now. His passive is just not a fun ability. Yes it introduces more gameplay but no one has ever said "oh boy I'd love some more gameplay in the form of a blatantly artificial minigame to see if I'm allowed to keep my hp".

You speak nothing but truth friend, theres multiple examples of Rito trying to make champions more "counterplay friendly" but instead completely destroying them and making them a pain to play. A good example is Kha'zix, he used to be a good fighter/assasin but Riot tore him down and forced him into the assasin role.

I feel like they should be attacked by something...not just stepped on
