I think Riot is using matchmaking as a giant psychology study.

They just want to test peoples limits, and use positive reinforcement/ negative punishment as tools to manipulate people. "Oh, this guy has won a crap ton in a row ,better put hit with two leavers in a row"

I honestly don't think that torchering people with promotionals is ethical either.

Here's your psychological study:

People who 'suck' at the game, don't actually suck at the game. They are intentionally playing beneath their ability, just so they can report you for 'verbal abuse'.

Now if that didn't blow your mind, they aren't reporting you because you're verbally abusive, or because they are offended by what you're saying, they're doing it so that they can get revenge on the random individuals who reported them, which resulted in a punishment.

And since they've obviously figured out the exploit in Riot's punishment system, where you are punished, whether or not you actually commited the offense, they are gaining that satisfaction by knowing that the people they report will be punished.

Now if THAT didn't blow your mind. They are literally playing ranked games, just to lose those games, for random people that they don't know, because it gives them more satisfaction knowing that random people who are trying to climb the ladder, are unable to because of their adamant trolling, then it would give them to actually make an attempt to participate and win the game, and actually potentially accomplish something in their life.

So instead of moving on with my life, or actually trying to play to the best of my ability, i'm going to intentionally play like shit, just so that I can restrict other people from playing the game competitively.

Now if THAT DIDNT BLOW YOUR MIND. The people who you actually think are doing this, who suck so bad at the game that it isn't even funny, are the PROFESSIONALS in the LCS. They are the ones who are trying to dominant the competitive scene, and restrict people with ability to make it to the competitive scene as it will reduce their ability to cash out in tournaments.

So basically, we're all fucked, because the professionals just smurf us all day long, and intentionally throw games so that they can report us and prevent us from being able to play in the LCS. I.E. the whole reason Riot doesn't want to implement IP Bans.

Mind Fucking Blown

Here's your psychological study:

I'd actually have to say this also has to do with tribal leadership and how there are basically 2 types of League players in low MMR, the "life sucks" and the "I'm great you aren't" player.

The Life Sucks players are the well I'm fucked I'm gonna fuck everyone else up players. The I'm great your not are the players that never help their team, don't listen to pings and just do jack shit all game because they are too far up on their high horse to admit they can be wrong and listen to advise. Now where does that leave the community? Afk, and trolling because they are "better" or because they think that they should screw other people over just because they arn't good enough to actually do anything for themselves.

I feel the same way people who win alot arent matched up with and against better players they are matched up with shittier players against more or less the same sort of player theyre also use to then they lose and Riot concludeds, maybe that guy wasnt that good afterall

Yep, and then they clamp you for losing 3 in a row, but they don't increase your gains for winning 3 in a row...

Conspiracy threads. I like these.

When you win a lot, you gotta lose. Somehow, but lose. According to the current system, its necessary.

Why?

  1. To feed someone who has lost (yes, feed). You will be paired up with newbs, trolls, AFK's or feeders. Doesn't matter if you dodge, there's still a lot for the choosing!
  2. To make newbies match-ups less painful. But, painful to the guy who will try to carry (may succeed i must say, but also, may not. Make your bets gentlemen!).
  3. To make you 'lol boards'. Nah, maybe not. Can't discard the possibility tho.
  4. To make you point out obvious system flaws, then downvote you for pointing them, but at the end, they'll change them to make your life a bittersweet experience and have fun while at it.
  5. To make support ticket team working 24/7.

You wouldn't have to lose if Riot could just fix their matchmaking so that people got where they were supposed to end up faster.

You just pointed out an obvious system flaw! you know what that means!

Then there are challenger smurfs that go from bronze back to diamond, wining approximately 36/40 games -_-...
