Increase the CDR on Essence Reaver to 20% to make it actually appealing for caster-based ADCs

I think item 3508 is an inferior item to item 3072 in almost every way, being especially useless in the late-game while not bought until then. This is because mana isn't a big issue late-game, and both the lifesteal and CDR it gives are abysmal.

I suggest increasing the CDR on Essence Reaver to 20% from 10%. This will add power to the item in a unique way, making it a lot more attractive to caster-based ADCs to pick up over Bloodthirster in the late-game, which adds unique tradeoffs between them. It could even become a viable early purchase on them as well. Thoughts?

Make it so its built from Brutalizer and give it ArPen for less AD.

Now its an ArPen item manaless champions cant abuse, and people like Talon and caster ADC could want.

while your at it, double the mana gain vs champs, cause it'S really not all that much mana sustain for beeing the main sellingpoint of ER....

What if they bring the mana version of item 3067 back. They tested it some time ago on the pbe. Than they can just do:

  • item 1053 (800) + 850 (from the mana kiddlegem) + 150 = 1800

ITEM A + item 1053 + 700 = item 3508 (3300)

Than give it 20% CDR

Mastery + item 3142/item 3071/item 3172 + item 3158 + item 3508 = 40% CDR, you know, the cap.

But you know... a few extra points of life steal would put it up to useful I think. Like 12 or 15% total but unique.

Honestly they should make a smaller version of item 3508 like they talked about, I think it was called Soul Sickle item 1053 + item 3114 = Soul Sickle +15 Attack Damage +10% Life Steal +50% Base Mana Regeneration UNIQUE Passive: 10% Cooldown Reduction UNIQUE Passive: Your basic attacks restore mana equal to 2% to 4% of the physical damage dealt, based on your missing mana

Soul Sickle + item 1038 = Essence Reaver +80 AD +50% Base Mana Regeneration +12% Life Steal UNIQUE Passive: +15% Cooldown Reduction UNIQUE Passive: Your basic attacks restore mana equal to 2% to 8% of the physical damage dealt, based on your missing mana

Apart from a better build path all I really want from this item is maybe give mana for each kill on a minion or champion.

Like 10 mana per minion 50 for champion kill 15 for assists

Making it a bit easier to sustain your mana.

What if it had another passive that increases damage based on missing/current mana, too? Just to encourage the nature of spending as much mana to get more mana back. I don't know, just a thought.

Actually the issue is that the BF sword is too damned expensive to allow it to be a first buy.

Best solution, lower the AD by about 30, have it build from a pickaxe and not BF sword and reduce the overall cost.

It's not a bad item, but it's really only good when you are actually having mana issues.

ER isn't inferior - it just already has tradeoffs. You're picking damage over sustain. Never going OoM is a huge advantage since you can push as hard you want, poke as hard as you want, and fight as hard as you want.

The only thing that should happen to it is to improve its build pathing. (and not with Soul Sickle, because AD+Mana on the same item makes a lot of people OP so early)

They should honestly just remove the Life Steal from it completely and increase the Mana Leech portion to 15-20% and CDR to 20%. CDR is very helpful for the caster AD champs that would build this. Furthermore this would provide excellent synergy with Muramana - a lot of caster AD's build Manamune -> Muramana and this would let them keep the Muramana active on almost constantly.
