What's the point of smurfing?

A lot of Higher elo players do it cause their queue times are absurd. They don't wanna want 20-30 minutes so they play on smurfs.

while some people definitely do it for that, for a good amount of people it is just the fun of climbing up the ranked latter again or the prestige or bragging wrights of saying you have multiple accounts at X rank.

Theres lots of reasons, some 'good', some less so, and different people will have different ones.

Some want to legitimately introduce a low elo friend to the game and don't want their main accounts MMR to make matchmaking unfair.

Some want to have account to boost friends with.

Some want to stomp noobs.

Some want to play new champs/roles without ruining their main accounts mmr.

Some want to have private accounts to 'escape' from their friends on their main account.

Some want to verify that 'elo hell' is indeed a myth and they can indeed climb from low elo.

Some want to do ranked 'speed runs', generally for a youtube series or something where they go unranked->diamond or whatever in a week.

Some just want a fresh experience of climbing if they've more or less reached their 'true' rank on their main.

Some want to have specialized hard main accounts.

Some want lower queue times.

Some had their main account banned.

Some are waiting for dodge penalties to expire.

I'm sure theres other reasons too.

I never understood this either. Leveling 1-30 is god awful.

Lower Q times, stomping others, less stress (like when you take your climb seriously, have some goal, that you want to get to XY.. when you do, make a new acc and can play without pressure of losing it :D)

To cool off, play when your account is on leaves buster for dodging, try absurd things, attempt to rank up another account, play with your friends who are a lower ELO, etc.

It's a bit of a break of the monotony of higher ELOs. Low ELO is a clown fiesta every game which can be frustrating and fun. Personally It's more frustrating than fun most of the time for me, but I have a few friends who really enjoy it.

Make bronze people salty I guess.
