That one thing i don't like about champion balance

When you play champions like say.. Leblanc, Kassadin, Syndra, Viktor etc, You can get shut down in lane but still deal alot of damage and manage to get back in the game.

I main ap Shaco, you die once you're f***ed for the rest of the game as you'll deal no damage, and the only way to get back in the game unless you, somehow, start getting fed is by csing, which the enemies probably wont let you do, is getting assists (which can take until late game for your damage to catch up), or wait until the enemy makes a stupid mistake which leads you to a kill..

That's a problem alot of champions have...

I don't get it, why is it so hard for like half of the champions to make a comeback, while the other half doesn't even care if you shut them down, since they'll still deal as much damage.

Could someone explain that to me? Is there actually a reason behind this?

AP Shaco isn't a meta build, and it's success isn't something Riot considers when balancing the champion. The only time they would consider it is if it were to become dominant, like Tryndamere or Master Yi.

The mages you mentioned are all balanced around their abilities, so they have more ways to do damage, let's take Kassadin for example. He is a late game mage who doesn't do so hot early. Shaco is an early game ganking assassin that usually builds AD so he can use his Q for a large chunk of damage. Now he is being built AP and has 1 reliable damage spell.

If both of them have 100 AP then Kassadin can do 230 damage if he lands all of his abilities, with no stacks on his ult. Shaco can do 100 damage, and potentially another 100 with clone, but probably not.

Kassadin can then be that much more useful, and he just scaled harder with more items. If you are hooked on AP Shaco, why not just play something else that has more damage and comeback potential if that is where your beef is?

I like Shaco's kit, its actually made to decieve and outplay the enemy, and there's not many champions who do that, and instead of just 1 shotting every squishy being AD i decided to play him AP, where it actually takes a bit more skills to win with it..

Of course i could play alot more champions, but i wouldn't get as much fun as i wouldn't really be able to mentally torture/mindfuck my enemies, unless i want to play Teemo i mean..

As for Balance.. I think Shaco was made to be played both AD and AP ( he's like 2 champion in one, so i'm pretty sure riot thinks about both of them when balancing twin scaling champs..i hope), as all of his spells have AP scaling, it's just that his E lacks in damage, especially when the enemy builds even the slightest bit of magic resist, playing ap shaco just becomes instantly useless. and slightly buffing his E ap scaling would help him to actually be useful and be able to come back.

There was a great 17 pages Shaco rework idea, but it sank down the boards.

I think this guy is the only real problem you are describing. Yasuo

The only problem is that they nerfed armor items and never nerfed his ult bonus pens...

And also... he can get back in the game ez if he's shut down in lane...
