I never had a problem with this champion and I actually loved her rework but this bitch is crazy right now. I don't know if it's sudden impact, electrocute, coup de grace or whatever she picks but I know for sure that she deals way more damage than she used to.

Half the champion roster fapping around with no good keystones for them, while 
, has basically perfect keystone and rune synergy.
I'm just bad with playing against her... Kat and Leblanc make me even more garbage than I already am lol
no free mr and the new runes are really strong on kat
I mean, the new runes were practically designed for her, everything in domination and precision has good synergy. Other than that, her skill damage remained the same, all that changed was the runes. Wouldn't be surprised if she was nerfed again soon since she is under riots watch
MR levels are lower across the board as well.
Over-all damage creep from rune changes helped her a lot. Not giving back some M.R. to champion wasn't a good idea.
But runes themselves also quite increase the overall damage output.
Lack of MR and the access to Electrocute+Sudden Impact are doing wonders for her. Consider picking up an Anti-AP mid, some still ruin her day.
Hell, even a Lux with Stopwatch+Barrier is awful for her if your positioning isn't bad.
Honestly, the real annoying thing about Katarina is her ability to pick up daggers while under the effect of hard CC.
I don't see any change before and after new runes. Maybe a slightly one for triumph, but the magic pen. runes are gone on the other side. It's been the same Kata, but now you see more of these new "Katarina mains" because they thinking she's broken with the new runes. High skill cap = high rewarding and seems fair to me.

Nothing happened. She's been broken since her rework. The champion is literally impossible to deal with.
Haven't played against her in lane but most of the time i actually see her in a game she pops off and deals so much damage, fortunatly i don't see her that often and i don't play ranked.
yeah when I play mid against her after lvl 5 when she jumps me I feel like my hp bar explodes and I'm forced to run pretty much immediately then she picks me off with E resets and ignite and it's gg from there usually
Here’s a piece of advice. Cc is her main weakness. Diana, lux, and Syndra can make her have a pretty bad day since she can be somewhat predictable.
From personal experience its electrocute
I used to run Deathfire touch because you couldnt even proc thunderlord in lane on old katarina (I was in small % of kat players who simply knew DFT is better dmg and consistency wise)
However electrocute can actually be proced and katarina can realisticly proc it once a minute The longer CD with higher dmg fits her more
Also that gunblade buff + 3 damage KAPPA
the other reason is that katarina spikes harder with her first item harder then 95% of champions and games last 14 minutes
She is rather weak in lane. But that doesnt matter as long as she keeps up (10 cs less for example) she ll outspike with 1 item and given how much snowball there is that is enough to take over a game
People have to keep in mind that she used to run AD marks AP glyphs Not everyone had luxury for her hybrid runes so that kept katarina underated
Busted damage creep from runes. The rune page she runs is almost custom tailored for her. Gunblade is obviously never gonna be addressed even though it's as cancerous as Duskblade is.
