How to make Garen actually viable.

Okay so its of popular opinion that Darius was the most successful juggernaut update. Cause his abilities actually has a chance to fail thus meaning you can add more power into his kit. unlike say Garen who's basically so straight forward that he is fated to either be bad or OP. I SAY change his Q from an empowered auto to a medium range slash or something along those lines to make his damage avoidable. remove the silence but give him maybe a slow? or maybe a grounded affect, like he's cutting their legs or something. something that has universal counterplay so he can be better universally. this is just a suggestion but something needs to change to make him less linear so he can actually be viable.

it's not a terrible idea, honestly, but I'd much prefer the silence to a grounding effect since the former will do you a lot more good against casters and the like

His win rate took a nose dive when his movement speed received a nerf because Riot wants their juggernauts to be lumbering clumsy oafs who punish enemies for getting near them and not vice versa.

To be fair though, Garen's win rate prior to the nerf was 55% or higher.

I suggest if you want to experience Garen like he was before, you could try MS quints on him.

Illaoi is, actually.

Garen, Darius, and Yorick are still all EXTREMELY stat-checky, even when the former two miss their entire kits.

Juggernauts trade mobility for dmg... Giving him a way to unkite himself with cc is bad. Giving garen a dash is bad. You dont know how to play garen dont talk. Juggernauts are about DAMAGE. nerfing that is just forcing him into a tank role where he has no skills or abilities or scaling for a tank role

The silence and empowered auto is actually useful to disrupt trades, while at the same time not being as retarded as knock up, root, stun or so on because the opponent can at least 'run'. Sadly like usual League is still in the B.S. known as Lethality EZ shredding and EZ tank builds so plenty of champions exist who exploit these metas too strongly.

At the very least Garen getting a armor shred on his E is a very strong anti-tank based gimmick since it makes tanks less inclined to try and trade against him since he has plenty of abilities to give him a short counter burst (his W damage reduction, his E's armor shred, his Q's silence), which likely once the tank and lethality metas get cleaned up, Garen should be in a much more stable position since 'tanks' should hopefully not get as much free damage and hopefully in turn, will make particular 'juggernauts, fighter/tanks, tank/fighters, etc. tanks' who thrived in the tank meta get dragged back a bit in the process.

Now if you want Linear problems, champions such as Ahri and Tristana are in sticky spots since:

  1. Ahri may be a stable pick for mid lane but her kit is mostly just All in damage rush and failing to land her E usually puts her in a spot where she has to waste R to escape or get shredded. It would at least be nice if she may get a few polish ups in the form of 'gimmick additions' similar to how Garen's E got a new effect. At least something to reinforce her mobility such as maybe a mini-ghost while W is active(P.S. i don't count Ahri's Q because of the small window and minor move bonus she gets during it, not really 'too' viable for escapes/chases when R is down) and remove the damage reduction if it hits the same enemy more then once. That or make her passive have a second effect on top of its small sustain bonus to help with laning, but a effect to help her out in trades since the passive loses alot of viability in trades, especially outside of lanes.

  2. Tristana was definitely a nice ADC who was quite viable a few seasons ago, but she's been overshadowed by alot of particular champions and now Lethality is making her and any squishie ADCs into having living nightmares of match ups in bot lane, It would be nice if they could also give her more polish then a small duration boost on her Q, at least to either make her a very viable hybrid ADC or give her more tools to help her the ADC role (such as maybe crit interaction or some other things to make up for her slow startup 'weakness' on her small range increase per level passive. Don't even get me started at how easy it is for her to get messed up on her W where its easily possible for her to get stopped midway by CC and it usually leaves her in a risky position after jumping at times.

make his w turn into snowball

Make Garen viable: Remove the MASSIVE damage on Demacian Justice. Not much worse than getting hit for 1000 damage from one shot even though you have a SV.

Pretty sure he is already viable, just not as good as Darius. Suggestion is reasonable and good though.
