New Galio is just better shen

Shen has a special place in my heart as the first tank I ever learned top lane. I have many good memories of bailing my friends out of stupid situations and despite being a tank, just dumpstering on the enemy laner while being impossible to kill. After his rework and his nerfs to said rework, shen hasn't been the same imo. Yeah he'll get picked in pro play due to that amazing ult but honestly when Galio is released I don't see why you would ever pick shen. If you want a tanky top laner that can scale well and play safe, pick Sion. You want hard reliable engage? Pick malphite. You want peel? Poppys got you. And now, do you want a roaming tank? Galio has you. He'll have a safer Laning phase, better damage, better tank AND AP scaling, more cc, better dive potential, can do more with a lead thanks to his good ratios, and can split push faster/better. The only reason I can think of to pick shen over Galio is that his ult is global but honestly you can get past the Galio ult range and it's on a much lower CD to begin with. On top of that items like iceborn and aybss are gonna be great on Galio so CDR is easier to build. I like the new Galio a lot but it's just sad to see a champion I love so much be basically rendered completely obsolete by the other tanks.

Really guys, could you use your brain befor posting?

There is ONE simple reason why shen is strong(especially in proplay) even when his numbers are low: #His ult is truely global!!!!!!

Shen can sit toplane and still help out any allie **anywhere **on the map. If (new)Galio is used toplane, he can't even reach his midlane with his ult unless he leaves his lane, giving good opponents a clear clue that he might ult mid, especially if they warded. It's also alot easier to disengage a galio ult, it has over 3 sec delay and the imoac location is set on the initial cast. She can be deliverd by his allies and thus can be used for pro-active agressive plays aswell(shen Ult on Kah that then delivers shen to his opponents for example)

Compareing shen's ult, which is true global, wiht other ults that are only semi global is just pointless...

If new shen gets a little sustain in exchange for a little dmg on his q , the old players will like him again

I think Shen is the anti-AD version, Galio the anti-AP version. But they really do have to remove Galio's passive working on towers or else he'll just splitpush 24/7 and only join fights with his ultimate.

For the same reason why Pantheon isn't meta in pro play: it's all about that range. Galio won't be able to just make bot win their fight while being toplane.

Shen is a prime candidate for nerfs x'D. Better nerf Shen.

It's sad to see AP mage Galio get killed in exchange for a tank similar to Shen as well... :/

I personally love Shen's new Q. Farming is incredibly easy now.

He just needs to lose the W gimmick. Its not useful for him as a tank, and he can't use it to defend allies very well because the only way he can move the damn thing is to call it onto his person with his Q, in which case he needs to be on top of his enemies already so he can use his Q and not hugging his ADC.

If he got a damage reduction passive like WW's or some shield or even a defensive oriented team buff, he would be fine in my eyes.
