EDIT: Happy to get some responses, decided to stop trying so hard that I get mad. Maybe just main bard support for a while. If you can't beat em join em I suppose. It's nice just to have the stats tracked and such for the characters you're proud of.

Don't really care if you win or lose? Queue unranked.

Want to experiment with some new builds or characters? Queue unranked.

Not very good at the game yet? Queue unranked.

Care to play to win using your game knowledge and mastery of several champions in a competitive matchup? Queue ranked.

I am allowed to care about the game and winning the matches. I am so sick and tired of people that don't want to play in a competitive matchup queueing ranked and ruining my experience. If you don't care about winning, why are you queuing ranked?

Is it just because you get off on the moments you upset people and make them rage at you in the chat? So then you can disregard everything they say and tell them to get a life? What makes you such a better person for not caring about the ranked game you just played?

And no, I'm not talking about just losing. You can play a long back and forth match and it can be intense and awesome even if you lose. I'm talking about the blowout games where it's 2/23 with no towers or dragons before 20 minutes and some of your teammates don't want to play anymore.

Downvote away if you're feeling triggered by how often you inadvertently ruin games and get someone to rage at poor you.

Valid points, but "It's a ranked game" is not a good reason to rage at people no matter the circumstance. Doing so makes the match worse for everybody, in addition to whatever problem you're angry about.

The point is to get people to calm down.

If you're raging at people, smashing your keyboard to criticize every other second, then the issue is not 100% with other people.

You don't seen NFL players screaming at each other all the time... they're nice to each other occasionally.

I've been queueing for ranked because I'm sick of completely stomping under level 30s and getting stomped by golds. I'm not really a competitive person; I'm actually a really big sore loser. The stupid ranked restrictions mean that no one forfeits normals anymore, so there's no real reason to ever play it. The matchmaking is better in ranked, and the atmosphere is identical.

At least that's what I'm telling myself.

I pull out this comment when people are raging. Regardless of the performance of my team or myself, there is no reason to get upset or angry at the game because you're not winning. Thats called being a sore loser.

Ranked or Not, I like to win. League of Legends has become a huge competitive community. There will be people that are there just to play and have fun, Thats ok , but for somebody who has more time invested and has the desire to get better, don't ruin the competitive experience.

That being said, you wanting to win doesn't mean you should contribute to leagues ever so toxic community.

"It's just a game" is the key phrase that distinguishes someone who:

A.) Knows they are bad and doesn't care on how to get better B.) Knows they made a big mistake and is embarrassed about how bad they are so they try to deflect C.) Someone who should generally not be playing a competitive game D.) Someone poorly trying to troll the team hoping that they think he's not trying hard

If I see anyone using this phrase they are immediately muted and reported for verbal abuse because they definitely deserve an automated mute and/or ban. They are pretty much on the level of a duo/triple/quadra Que who rages at you because they feed or they all report you because you tell them to stop feeding so they want to try to stick up for their buddy because they are all sissies alone and need "hype men" to boost their internet-egos. I genuinely hope that anyone who is either part of this multi-que trolls or the "It's just a game trolls" dies a horrible death. Just my 2 cents. Thanks.

Actually no... if they aren't very good at the game you should by higher MMR/division then you... and if you aren't then you likely aren't that much better then them (unless they have been boosted)

Idk if it's just me, but I'm never actually mad until someone asks me if I'm mad and then goes on the "it's just a game" rant. Like yeah, it is a game, but (however sad this may be) League is a game that is a huge part of my day to day life. Whatever, maybe I'm a giant nerd or something, but when I get on league and I fire up a ranked queue it's because I'm there to win, fun is secondary to victory. Maybe I take it too seriously, but until I get to Challenger that's just how it's gonna be. I watch a ton of streams and you never see them raging, and there's one reason for that, it doesn't matter anymore. They're already at the top, now they're just kinda fighting over first place (which I don't think any of them care about). But when you're trying to get a piece of that action and you're currently stuck down in Silver, the game is hell. I personally do my best not to rage in game, but you can believe that I'm gonna be pissed irl when someone takes my role then feeds their ass off.

tldr; at the end of the day, yeah I guess it's just a game, but to some people this particular game means a lot and if you're just on to have fun and mess around you're in the wrong queue.

Not very good at the game yet? Then get matched up in silver or bronze... reason why there is different leagues is because there is a insane skill curve. .. u wont see bad players in plat or higher, unless carried by duo.

"calm down, it's just a game" in my opinion can only be used as a valid argument if everyone is actually trying their hardest and the other team is just plain outperforming you. If you're yelling at your teammates with absolutely no constructive criticism, then yes you should calm down. If they are obviously playing too lax for competitive play then their attitude is toxic. But getting all pissy over a video game is not worth it. The only reason I could see you getting legitimately pissed off over the game is if you're making money off of the game. If not, and it is in fact a free to play game, you are just too immature to be able to play without unnecessarily raging at your team. This topic is a double-edged sword. It only applies in certain context of play.

You're taking a game too seriously doesn't apply for everyone.

If ones can only play 1 game a week, or there are money involved, sure, efforts are needed. Here a game is just a game, grades are given, but you can repeat it anytime, attempts unlimited and difficulty varies, if you think this game mode has any fairness, you're kidding yourself.

If you are into competitiveness, go gather people who are similar-minded and make a team. Here we don't do that.

Fact is a fact you don't belong in ranked if your attitude is "its just a game", because no shit it is just a game, but the point of voluntarily choosing ranked over normals is that you should be putting winning above all others because it is a game and the point of a ranked game is trying to win, not going lolerskates jungle janna cause i feel frisky.

Stand by the point people who say its just a game are simply admitting they are bad at the game and don't belong. You know your moms favorite little piece of art the one you broke and ruined? Yeah was just a piece of clay because you are the douche bag who was playing around with it when you dropped and broke it, but reality is it was something your mom valued and you didnt have a right to play and break it nor do you have the right to then claim it is just a piece of clay and thus should hold no meaning because you are a pile of trash with no respect for others.

In my perfect world of League of Legends;

You have to be over the age of 16 and should have to take a three part test to play League of Legends and Ranked.

  1. A Intelligence Rating Test
  2. A Mental Acuity Test
  3. A finger-dexterity Test

With this, this would kill out the "Casual Gamerz" and leave only the worthy and learning player population of League of Legends.

Sadly, Riot cares more about the dedicated player-base money made from form fitting this once glorious game to fit the needs and wants of the autistic "Casual Gamer" population.

I want to keep believing that Riot will one put a foot day and defend their dedicated hardcore player-base by giving us a better MMR/ELO, Queue/Matchmaking and Reporting/Tribunal system.

But I think that day has long since passed.
