Not an Ahri is Broken Rant

Ahri is not broken

Ahri is not shit

technically ahri is a completely viable champion,

but that is not why people complain. people complain because Ahri is no longer . . . "Ahri", just like how i never see velkoz any more, they changed them both equally as much and both have had the same effect. No one wants to play them because they are no longer as fun to play.

(((just like how the changes to the pace of the game and the early game overload of objective additions is ruining the fun for a lot of people who are quitting.)))

Again i am not saying that Ahri doesnt work or works to well, and im not saying necessarily that i dont like Ahri changing. All I am saying is that Ahri's playstyle changed drastically with the seemingly small changes. Just like velkoz's seemingly small changes made him play different entirely just because of the new way his ult works (mind u i dont own velkoz but as someone who used to main ahri [pre-ludens] i am familiar with his old kit and have played him when he was free rotation) I read up on his ult.

I would in fact ( especially at this point ) love for a rework of sorts for Ahri as I feel the on the fly changes they made, based off of an item causing a problem, feel . . . . wrong. Like that feeling, when you used to be in elementary school and some one started an argument just to piss u off and the teacher ends up yelling at you. The asshole who was trying to piss you off would be the item in this analogy and the champion would be "you". I feel like either a version of old ahri that had more sustain and raw damage would work better than the little damage she does now (if you playing against someone who has any MR at this point [ also someone mentioned base MR is the same for everyone on another post idk if that is true ] ) I used to be able to cope against a yas just fine and it honest to god felt like fair fights 90% of the time playing in lane against zeds and yas, (people who in higher elos at the time would counter her easily, i was only winning because of the predictability of my elo. TBH it felt fair fighting against everyone because everyone had good opportunities to kill an Ahri, yet she had a fair amount of dinner to bring to the table.

I am not necessarily looking for suggestions, and i plan on continuing to work on ahri to see if i can get that feel back "manually", if you will, hopefully its just a problem on my end of never fully adjusting.

Ahri Ahri Ahri EDIT: please upvote if u voted so more will vote <3 thanks!

i think Ahri is in a pretty good spot, i do think she needs her model to be touched up, specifically on her tails (they are all scattered instead of all coming from the same place)

I'd say this is a much broader issue simply because this has so many cases of this reoccurring idiocy; like sona & mordekaiser & xerath were much more noticeable about their reworks dropping their playrates even worse than before. You're spot on about reworked champions driving away fans of those champions. The main reason I picked up ahri when she was released was that she was a mobile sustain mage, her original passive had +35% spell vamp, that was unique and interesting; but when they gutted it to heal 1/10th her AP and capped it to only happen 3 times, I pretty much stopped playing her (outside of aram) because it's healing was negligible at best, a potion heals for more unless you're stacking deathcaps.

Ahri is completely fine. Her playstyle basically hasn't changed, all they've done since they removed DFG was overbuff her and then nerf her back to a reasonable point.

for reference I was talking from a perspective of pre - ludens

Yeah, I know.

She plays exactly the same, the only difference is that you don't 100-0 people with DFG, but that's not because of any change to Ahri and wasn't particularly fair.

and to be fair they took her damage and gave her speed passive on her Q, as if that made up for something XD. IMO she needs something else to make up for her old damage, that is what made her viable was she did short bursts and then had a small mana pool and cool downs, she became vulnerable if she DIDNT 100-0 you. Now she still has long cd and low manna and low damage and nothing to compensate for her vulnerability.

I think its fair to say that her entire arsenal is great. Ahri is not op nor is she too weak. Her damage output is amazing but you just have to land your entire combo with her. Ahri may be vulnerable but thats what her ultimate is for. Her ulti makes for great escapes or chases. When being chased just hit a charm combo and keep running or even turn it. Ahri is by no means vulnerable if you use her ult accordingly and manage to avoid cc abilities.

They took a 20% damage amp off of her charm and increased it's base damage and AP ratio.

She doesn't need anything else, and she doesn't need to "make up for her old damage" because her old damage was overpowered.
