How would you rework LoL if you could?

For me, I would change how Items work.

No more Items that just boost stats and therefore all Items would either change how a hero plays (reduce Cooldown, adds slow or DoT to spells, damage reflection etc...) or give active effects that can affect the game.

That way builds would be chosen on which bonus ability benefits your team the most and not "just get the same 6 Items every game for max cost efficient build".

That way every Champion could be build around his niece and get Items to either improve his strenght or cover for his weak spots, and we wouldnt have to worry about champions getting out of controle with scaling.

I'd just turn down the healing and shielding, either by nerfing the values as they are or making grievous wounds feel more impactful and giving it a way to let some real damage through a shield.

So even less counterplay against the ever going damage creep?

Buffing shields isn't a good way to reduce damage creep.

I would delete all lethality items, and Buff black cleaver and lord dominik, I would lower AD numbers on every item by 15. And Nerf AD given by infernal from 8/16/24% to 4/8/12%.. also lower HP on every HP item by 100-150,(Items like warmog and randuin.. not Trinity or low hp items) increase exhaust and ignite cooldown.. yep, that's It. Fair Gameplay, no oneshots..

Oh also lower AP given by rabadon from 40% to 25%, and luden from 100 to 80.. Lower Magic Pen numbers from 15 to 10, Boots also to 10% and create an items that gives true dmg based on your AP (5-10%) I would lower base HP of tryndamere and diana. (Holy fuck they get like 2700 HP at lv 18 with no items.)

Also add grevious wounds item for shields.

I'd buff Riven and nerf Singed.

I'd make minions easier to farm(no more missing a minion because of it getting sniped by turret or other minions. Instead every minion you hit is protected until you kill it this also removes CS stealing), remove minion block, make sure every champ has at least 1 ranged poke and cc. Make it so armor and magic resist are more effective, equal and block the same amount of damage( it seems as though you can build a shit ton of MR and still get erased by champions like Lux, Brand and Teemo)

  1. I would bring back item 3154 as a sustain item that obliterates minions and monsters with a passive that can be lifestealed from while granting vision and being a useful item to any AD champion that uses autos more than they cast spells. There would be an inverse for AP Spellcasters, though.
  2. I would bring back Tracker's Knife, item 3362, and Ranger's Trailblazer.
  3. item 3004 would recieve a minor rework so as to not make it an item that is only used by Ezreal
  4. item 3056 would be useful. Don't know how yet, but it would be.
  5. item 3102 and item 3026 would have their recipes and stat profiles reverted to being pure defensive items, and Abyssal Scepter would come back in place of Banshee's for mages.
  6. item 3122 would be on Summoner's Rift with its passive working similarly to Tiger Stance.
  7. item 3137 would be the AP (or at least On-Hit?) version of item 3139.
  8. Spell vamp would still be a stat. (Cries in WOTA)
  9. The trinity of Snowball Items would be back. (This basically means Leviathan and Sword of the Occult would return as Tank and AD counterparts to item 3041)
  10. Evelynn would get her AD build back (Why did this go away, exactly? I liked being able to go Hybrid or Full AD or Attack Speed instead of Full AP)
  11. And last, but most certainly not least: Spell Crit.

Truth be told though, if we're talking systemic reworks, I'd have a lane that has a downed inhibitor spawn two Seige minions as well as the Super Minions, which IMO would go in line with Riot's goal of 'resolved games end faster', since Seige minions are harder to kill than Casters and Melees and push towers very well. It would also allow for easier comebacks because waveclear + siege minions = more money, but IDK if that's a good side-effect.
