Rapid Fire Canon on Jhin?

Why do a lot of builds on websites tell you to build item 3094 as third major item on Jhin?

Is this a good idea?

How cost-effective are the stats on Jhin anyways? I understand his passive converts some of the stats to AD but surely building another AD damage item would yield more damage overall? Isn't it a bit early to go for the range bonus when you've only got 2 other damage items completed?

I mean, you do get more attack range (for the burst) but without much AD backing it up, its not worth much????

Also, why wouldn't you skip it altogether and just go for 5 AD damage items (to have mega-burst)? You flash for the kills anyways????

What do you think?

Do Jhin players go for RFC and if so, is third item too soon or just right?

Many jhin players go Rapidfire as their 2nd or third item. As you pointed out, it converts nicely into damage and gives him some movespeed which he needs because he is pretty low mobility. The real treasure of Rapidfire is the passive. It is pretty easy on Jhin to fire 3 shots, then walk around to charge the rapidfire to get a long rage forth shot. Especially for chaining RFC proc>W

But do you get A LOT less AD for it?

I mean, it only converts a percentage of the attack speed and crit into AD (as opposed to getting complete AD otherwise)?

So would you get less damage?

You do get less damage, but you get the passive and more crit as well.

The attack speed is a lot worse than on most other champions andit does not provide as much raw damage as building pure ad would. However the longer range can be really key on getting single autos off in poke situations and the movespeed is good for kiting and sticking to targets. Basically every champion that has powerful single auto attacks like jhin or caitlyn want RFC at some point. For jhin he needs pen and lifesteal after the RFC.

Even if you ignore the value of the mobility and bonus range, his passive converts the attack speed and critical strike chance to a (roughly) 20% increase in his AD.

It is quite useful for harassing opponents, sieging towers and setting up your snare safely.

I usually go build rapid fire cannon as the second item, with first being IE or Essence Reaver. If a Jhin player is ever behind during the laning phase, then getting this item should be priority number 1 imo.
