"ELO hell" + I'm bad?

So last season I sat comfortably in the Silver ELO (I almost made it to Gold! :)) I felt confident that this is the ELO I should be in... that this is the ELO I should be learning in and progressing from. I won some, I lost some. But I felt the losses were usually close and I performed well but had been outplayed (which I usually feel OK about, I play to perform well and learn, not to win).

_Transition to this season... _

I'm placed in Bronze, which I understand, that's part of the game! Time to climb, should be easy since I'm a silver player... or so I thought. I feel like I'm at the bottom of the LoL community here... where the toxic sludge stick at the bottom contaminating anything that gets close to it. I get trolled so often in this ELO I have to take breaks at least once EVERY game ( in fact, I just had a Hecarim back seat ping my lane all game then proceed to feed late game by charging down the mid lane chanting "CHARGE" into the towers/enemies). It's ridiculous! On top of that, I'm being outplayed by the enemy laner! They play very well, better than most silver players I know. Which isn't an issue, I enjoy the challenge! But I'm having a harder time in Bronze than I did in Silver! Is there some sort of reason for this?

**Are there any people out there that feel like lower ELOs can be harder than higher ones? **

I'd like to read some of your answers/advice, thanks for reading. :)

It's after the reset bud. Right now kids from gold and below can land in bronze 5. My smurf placed bronze 5 after 7-3 playing with plat MMR players. It's just a bug in their system. Give it time to balance out. Play norms for a while.

That would make sense. I'm still nooby, so I assume the higher players stay generally close to their elo. I suppose I'll let things balance themselves out before I charge in. Thanks!

lol that Hecarim :) Today I also got hecarim in my Gold promo who went 1/9. Dude supposedly was Plat last season but he clearly struggles in silver league. And no, it wasn't just a bad game for him, he was obvious ELO HELL player since he wanted to dive turret at lvl 4. Probably somebody boosted him last season, but ELO HELL mentality remained. ELO HELL does exist. I also found much harder to play in bronze on my alternative account than climbing to Gold on this one. As for suggestion... Play duo with somebody noteworthy you will meet. You will have a better chance of having good players. Avoid Jax, Xin, Tristana and Hecarim players in your team unless they are smurfs. Ask them to play something else and tell that you lose most games with those champs in your team. Don't follow your team mates to opponent jungle otherwise you will encourage their objective-less fights and suicides. Similarly, don't try to save suiciders, otherwise it only will encourage them to keep suiciding.

The amount of people who are boosted af blows my mind. Thats why i enjoyed flex when it first came out and my team was wildly higher rank than me some games as was the other team. I was able to play with people who actually knew what they were doing and the fact that I was able to hold my own and even do extremely well sometimes made me realize that there's no reason I shouldn't be able to climb way past where I was last season.

If you're in elo hell that means the people you're getting on your team are so bad that they need to be carried. So just make sure you play a hardcore face roll champion and do all the work yourself. Irelia Darius Fiora Graves Yorick come to mind as being particularly unstoppable if they get ahead

Challenger players are getting placed in low plat. That shows that it pushes people down and everybody is trying to climb. As the season progresses, you'll get to your right rank. It's only been like a week or 2 in the new season.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70A8rI8QnKc it's about a different game (Overwatch) however he talks more about the mindset and the theory behind elo hell so you can basically just replace a handful of words/names then he wud be talking about LoL

Riot's elo ranking graph looks nothing like that. 50% of players are contained within bronze and S5. Didn't watch the video but i just want to throw that out there.

indeed and that's due to a difference in the ranking system however graph have nothing to do with the video and is only referd to becus it was used in a preveus video were he compares Overwach system to that of LoL and other games. i play bothe games and in my opinion LoLs rank sytem is far beter

in short his point is that elo hell is wherever you make it, bronze, gold, plat don't matter if you think you ar in elo hell then you ar in elo hell
