The problem with Yasuo isn't his shield, it's his crit. 2 items and he reaches 100% crit chance which is ridiculous, doesn't even need to be 2 fully built items, just Phantom Dancer and IE's crit component.

The crits are a massive problem as well, but even without them his damages aren't lining up, especially for a resourceless character. Comparing values of AD, Health, his free shield, and resistances to, say Poppy, it's all straight better than hers, at every stage of the game, even ignoring him getting everything he has at NO COST. For the shield, in perspective, his passive grants him a free shield ranging from about 20 to 25% of his health, compared to Poppy's which grants 15 - 20% and needs to be procced manually. The numbers get even worse when looking at relative AD and Armor armor values.

Add on top that, two items increasing the damage of his autos and of a spammable, long-range spell by 112.5% where every other character gets at BEST a 75% increase on their autos alone in the same two items, and it's just a frustrating mess of a design.

Remove his second crit-bsed passive, and retool him around his flow mechanic.

Passive: Way of the Wanderer Yasuo builds flow by moving, up to 100 flow. Spells expend flow. At maximum flow, spells have no cost, and Yasuo creates a shield if he would recieve damage from champions or monsters, draining his flow in the process. Shield amount: 100-510 (Based on level) -> 8% of health

Q: Steel Tempest Cost: Free -> 25 Flow Base Damage 20/40/60/80/100 -> 30/55/80/105/130 Removed: Tornado NEW: At two stacks, the third cast stuns all units hit for 1 second Cooldown: 6/5.5/5/4.5/4 -> 4 at all ranks

W: Wind Wall Cost: Free -> 50 Flow NEW!: Wind Wall has modified health which drains over time. Ranged auto attacks deplete 25% health, and projectile spells deplete 50%. Cooldown: 26/24/22/20/18 seconds -> 20/19/18/17/15 seconds

E: Sweeping Blade Cost: Free -> 10 Flow NEW effect: Yasuo dashes in target direction. The first enemy unit he passes through takes damage and refunds Sweeping Blade's cooldown as well as generating extra flow. The same enemy can not take damage from Sweeping Blade for 10 seconds. Cooldown: None -> 10 Seconds (Cannot be reduced by cooldown reduction) Base Damage: 60/70/80/90/100 -> 30/40/50/60/70 Removed: Increasing Sweeping Blade's damage when hitting enemies

R: Last Breath NEW: Fires a Tornado when first cast, dealing 80/100/120 Damage (+100% AD), and knocking enemies airborne. Can be recast within 3 seconds to blink to any airborne enemy dealing a damaging combo. If not recast, Last Breath's cooldown is reduced to 20 Seconds.

Yasuo's shield is easy to work around, if your champion has any form of range or jump-in-jump-out you can pop his shield and remove it before you fight him. The shield is not the problem, it's his damage output. He does way to much for way to little.

He needs greatly reduced lifesteal. Do to his foolishly designed free crit he can get some cheap lifesteal and still sustain himself despite face tanking shit. It is disgusting.

If by balance you mean "make him weak as shit and absolutely pointless to pick because he'll be slaughtered in basically every matchup by anyone with a bit of competence", then yes, that will "balance" him.

even an auto attack procs his shield and it lats for only 2 seconds beofre he has to uild it up again so why take it away?
