Lets talk about AD mana items!

So I really want to discuss and and get other peoples' opinions on these items as well.

So personally I would like to see essence reaver reverted to how it was back in season 6 Mainly the Unique passives. It used to restore 3% of MAXIMUM MANA when your AA crit. Right now its only 1.5% of MISSING MANA per AA. So the old percentage was twice as high and the difference between restoring based on max mana VS missing mana is pretty significant. If a champion has 1,000 mana restoring 3% of the total max mana is 1,000 X 0.03 = 30 mana every crit. If the champion has 250 out of 1,000 mana then restoring 1.5% of missing mana would be 750 X 0.015 = 11.25 mana and gradually decrease down to 0. At 50% crit chance the old essence was just way better.

Then it also gave 10% CDR, and you could gain up to 30% CDR total depending on how much crit chance you had. Right now it gives a total of 20% CDR the moment the item is completed. So that's more CDR early on but less later on. And there aren't any other CDR items in the core build for an ADC unless you want to go the deaths dance route which hardly seems viable. So the only way to 40% CDR is through runes but that limits both the early game of an ADC as well as the variety in a rune page. With sorcery in the second tree, gathering storm is usually a necessity on every ADC and absolute focus is usually the second go to. But runes like nullifying orb, mana flow band, and celerity can be very beneficial in certain situations. If possible I would like to avoid transcendence.

In all honesty I can't think of any champions that even build essence reaver other than a couple of ADC's like or but IE still feels like a better first item on on these two ADCs. Then there is Right now essence reaver feels really awkward on him. He used to really benefit from the old essence reaver. Having 40% CDR feels great on Jhin considering hes definitely an ability reliant ADC but the lack of damage, and the mana restoration feels nonexistent on him considering he can't spam auto attacks like the other ADCs.

It would be nice if Essence reaver could actually compete with Infinity Edge as a first item on the few ADCs that the item was actually intended for.

Then as of . Im still confused as to why this item is even in the game. is literally the only champion in the game who actually uses this item. It fell off of jayce when lethality came around, varus has much better build paths, and corki hasn't used it in years. Will this item ever be viable on anyone other champion? Feels odd having an item that caters to just one champion. Maybe it needs a buff so that people like jayce and corki can benefit from it again?
