Does every game turn into a low farm game vs. Nasus?

Silver rank's perspective here. Feel free to provide input based on different levels of play.

I'm noticing that when Nasus is locked in on the other team, the game turns into a race to end the game before Nasus has enough stacks that you can't fight him and, by consequence, enough tank stats to be a virtual raid boss.

I just finished one of my most hectic games of the season, where pretty much every pick was made to end the game in a faster-than-timely fashion. I ended up picking Vayne into Draven (yeah, who does this willingly?) because she's the only ADC (that I can play) who does reliable damage to Nasus even when he becomes tanky.

Out of the gate, it was a very unusual game. Any farm I would have gotten was forgone for the sake of stacking objectives in our favor and wiping their side of the map out. Thankfully, it worked out in the end because our team did an amazing job of keeping every lane in their control.

With that anecdote out of the way, is this the only feasible way of making sure Nasus doesn't become an absolute nightmare to face? I've been told that at higher levels of play that he isn't as problematic because teams are good enough to end the game before he gets big. Back down here in silver, it just seems as though he'll inevitably get farm if you don't strap yourself to him and poke him with what eventually becomes a toothpick and hope no other lanes collapse.

Are we taking the wrong approach?

You're acting like Nasus is the best late game champ when there's a lot of champs that can deal with him.

Vayne gets QSS for wither and proceeds to kill him in 5 seconds

Nasus's late game is hilariously overrated, only thing he can do is splitpush because he lost too much wither range to teamfight

i get that he has exploitable weaknesses, even in the late game.

what i'm arguing is that nasus becomes problematic if you let him reach a point of late game relevance because you can't ignore him due to his splitpushing threat -- in silver, at least.

you can't really ignore any champ late game, not even the ones that fall off. other team could take tryn or something else that split pushes well and you would still need to deal with split push.

i agree that trynd is a nuisance in his own special way, but at least he's built glass cannon in many cases.

Its the same thing with every dedicated split pusher, especially in lower elos. They will sit in lane and ignore the fact that they have a team. A nasus is most potent around the 20-30 min mark if he knows how to farm his Q. This is where he is too tanky for people do deal with because they haven't reach their pen items yet and really starts to hurt. At around the 40-50 mark nasus starts to be less of an issue unless you have a full AD or mainly AP team for him to stack resistances.

You need to work on getting team objectives without sacrificing farm. CS is extremely important in terms of getting to late game. If you sacrifice this you are almost letting nasus get the lead. You need to know how strong nasus is and know that once he hits that mid game point he won't be something you can easily deal with.

A big factor of beating him is seeing what kind of player he is. Not just good or bad, but is he a teamplayer or a dedicated split pusher. If he is a team player you need to focus on picks and split pushing on the other side of the map as him and only send someone to push the wave out when he gets close to tower. If you don't have a good split pusher then you need to work on team objectives and trying to pick off the enemy to give you a numbers advantage.

If he isn't a team player and just a dedicated split pusher you need to have 1 of 2 things. Either a way to deal with his split pushing with someone who can clear waves to keep him back or someone who can fight him. Usually this means your mid laner who hopefully ahead of him with opposite damage from your top laner. You need to have TP on your top laner and group to take objectives like dragon/towers to get you a teamwide lead. Know that he will get strong 1v1, but you shouldn't aim to duel him, but to beat his team.

honestly nasus is strongest at like 20 minutes if you can manage to get around 400 stacks and a kill or two. At that point they need to send like three people to stop you and your team can easily just snowball by taking towers.
