Why all the Death's Dance hate?

doiminat0r3600··2 votes·727 views

Seen 2 posts already. It's supposed to help AD casters and assassins survive with Physical vamp and a delay on some of the damage offering them a chance to get it back before it's gone.

Why the hate?

Edit: Just realized the buff. Seems like a stupid buff but also kinda has it's own place. Riot wanted to make the item more prevalent. But now 30% of the damage enemies do will be dealt to the holder as true damage over 3 seconds.

Draven is abusing the item or something. I don't know. It's always tied to Draven though, whether it's draven breaking the item or the item breaking draven.

it's too strong/some champs are too strong with it

either the item or the strongest users of it need to be taken down a peg

But who builds it often enough? Really? I've not seen it on any other player's champion except mine in the niche times I build it.

illaoi, draven, fiora and riven are quite potent with it right now

It makes adcs considerably more resilient to burst damage, when they really probably shouldn't be

But why now? The item hasn't been in the spotlight since it's release and people called it trash back then.

What comes out every 2 weeks?

doiminat0r36001 votes

Real constructive. Maybe I just missed it in the patch notes.

Am I not allowed to miss something on a page I have to scroll forever to reach the end of?

Why now? Because the damage-deferred effect just went from 15% of damage received to 30% of damage received.

doiminat0r36001 votes

But it's also true damage. 10% of the damage you deal will be delt to them as true damage every second.

Jinzo Torrance2 votes

It's not premitigation damage, so it's physical damage you took turned into true damage.

ProtestantCaesar2 votes

Unless I'm mistaken, the damage that is deferred is calculated after resistances, so the fact that it becomes true damage is basically meaningless. (Unless I'm mistaken, it being true damage just prevents your resistances from applying twice.)

Ah O Yeah Harder2 votes

Because Draven becomes stupid op once he gets that item.

doiminat0r36003 votes

Draven gets stupid OP when he gets 2 kills and comes back with item 3031 item 3147 item 3006 at level 6.

What is dumb is mages can't have spell vamp while ADC's actually benefit the most from a life steal system in the first place.

doiminat0r36001 votes

What's dumb is ADs get Mana regen on hits and life on hits but AP champions get item 3146 as their only healing item and then item 3027 as the mana item (which requires you to get hit) and it only restores 25 mana.

AP doesnt get that regen b/c they are more burst orientated. ADC's get more lifesteal for overtime damage and to prevent getting killed in 3 seconds

doiminat0r36001 votes

APs can deal 2k worth of magic damage in half a second but AD can do 500-700 AD twice a second and get lifesteal off that?

AP champions would be broken with it because they would be far too safe with it. AD champions, even ADC's have to actual be in threat range to justify vamp.

the few AP champions that do have to get close have inbuilt vamp in their kit anyway, meaning they can just have their kit balanced around it without vamp being in the game.

It is just draven. Nerf him and don't touch item 3812

The item is fine. People just hate the champions that use DD: "Omg Riven just got a legendary skin and DD was buffed?? NERNERFNERF!!!!"
