Is this a buff or a nerf? I cannot tell

Caitlyn ** Yordle Snap Trap (W) trapped enemy bonus damage from headshot changed to flat 80/130/180/230/280 (+ 60% total AD) from 10/20/30/40/50% increased damage

I cant tell if its a nerf or a buff? Im not sure why they would nerf it because Caitlyn is already an underused champ.

Thats quite a huge buff lol.

so let me get this straight...

nidalee traps do 40 damage plus .2 AP (aka HALF), dont root people, and cant be placed in lane because minions trigger them dont give as much vison when placed

while cait traps do double the damage, have better scaling, root enemy champs.. and are not triggered by minions and grant good vision during placement.

Still comparing an ADC and an assassin...

Just shut up already, they're MARGINALLY different.

im comparing 2 skill that are 95% identical. one of which is useful. the other of which is beyond worthless

Nidalee's traps also make her jungle clear fast and safe, and she doesn't need to be near them for them to do damage, but the most important thing about them is that, like Caitlyn's, they apply her passive: a nigh-global 30% movespeed buff, double the range on her gap closer, and a 33% damage increase for her execute.

The exact number is complicated, since headshots scales with both crit chance and AD. If Caitlyn has 80% crit chance (IE, Runaan's, Firecannon), a headshot will do 133% of Cait's AD as bonus damage, up to 200% if the target is trapped. With that example build, this is a damage nerf if Caitlyn has more than 400 AD.

tl;dr It's a damage buff in all but the most extreme lategame scenarios.

They're trying to buff her lane dominance and to give her a reason to get her traps before the midgame tower sieging section of the game.
