Can we add Rune Page Shards to Chests?

I've been leveling a new account, and I find 2 rune pages to be very limiting. The pre-selected ones are great, but they are not optimal for ranked. A bare minimum of 5 is necessary in my opinion, one for each lane, to have an effective selection to choose from. Given that they are 6300 a page, purchasing them with blue essence is completely out of the question, as I have a hard enough time getting champions as it is.

Could we possibly add rune page shards to the hextech chests, so that we can purchase them at a reduced price like any other champion shard? At the very least, they could be disenchanted for a reasonable amount of Blue essence for anyone who doesn't need/want rune pages.

I'd prefer not TBH. Rune pages are literally useless since you can just change out runes in champ select anyway, all this does is devalue boxes by making it less likely you'll get a skin shard. Seriously though, I have 19 pages from the old system, I use 1 page. Rune pages just aren't useful.

I think the reworked run system makes it way easier to just switch them up as you need them in champ select - as long as you know what is best in the very situation. I myself made several PNGs of different runes pages and placed them in the right side of my desktop, so if I don't know what to go I just dobule click them to see what I have to take. I'd not want them to be part of the rare chests I get because I'm always happy when receiving skin shards.

If this is truly what people are doing, Why not just give us more rune pages then and cut out the hassle of changing them every game?

I see where you're coming from and you're definately not alone with asking for such things. But selling rune pages is one way to fund Riot and keep the game alive. It was like that before the rune changes and it is the same afterwards - only that you know have the option that I descriped which was not the case before the rework.

At first you were asking for different free stuff, but in your comment you asked for more free stuff - but at some point we have allow them their income.

No where did I ask for free stuff.

I suggested they offer Rune Page Shards just like they do for Champions.

You can already buy runepages for 6300 BE

You stated that you have no need for more runepages, because you can just modify the two you have. Meaning you're not going to purchase runepages anyway with Riot points. Meaning the only thing extra runepages do is lessen the hassle of having to keep remaking your page or otherwise Ease of Access.

And I'm fairly certain locking ease of access behind a paywall isn't something Riot intended for. And in other games is often frowned upon, because you are making people pay to do something they should already be able to do to begin with.

But I get they need to make money, and I've spent my fair share of money on skins. It'd be interesting to see what percentage of revenue actually comes from Rune pages alone.

I dont think u need that... in the previous system, i bought around 5 rune pages (that I still have), and I currently use only 1 page that I change every single game. there is not page that will work for a champion every game, you need to change it every time IMHO.
