Ranked Restriction

Ranked Restrictions

Your Ranked Restrictions idea was good, I can't deny that the idea sounded nice at first but after being on the other end of it there are some flaws to the logic of it and how it carries out.

I got chat restricted and ranked restricted a bit ago. It was 50-60 chat restricted games, I think, and 30 ranked restricted. Since I mainly play ranked this bothered me but I know I deserved it so I took the punishment and played my games. After a bit, around 10 or so games, I noticed my chat restriction was going down but my rank restriction wasn't. It wasn't until this point I noticed you had to win the draft pick normal games and that had me completely confused. In the end, I finished my chat restrictions long ago and still have about half my ranked restrictions to go.

There are so many reasons why you can lose a game that aren't against the rules that made me wonder how this punishment lined up with the crime. Lets look at a few that I personally went through shall we?

-Our top lane Zed never connected, we stayed positive and tried to win but to no avail. -Our bottom lane was super cocky, ended up going to being super toxic to her support/team. Whatever, reported and moved on. -Players trying new things/metas because it was normals. They're allowed to, if it works cool if not whatever. -The other team was just generally better than us, or we made some mistakes. However you want to phrase that.

How do these losses end up being my fault? They don't. Does me being nice and positive help the team, or even neutral for that matter? Maybe, but I wouldn't say so personally. Then why do I have to win these matches? I don't know.

TL;DR - Ranked Restriction was a good idea but the punishment isn't directly related to the crime.

The question "Q: Won't these players just feed, troll, and AFK their way through the games?" was brought up in the original thread and the answer to it was making the players WIN their draft picks. While I do see how this solves the problem, it also causes the one I discussed above. If the player was going to afk/troll through their restriction they would just end up getting further punishment, having to win the said matches doesn't stop them from trolling either.

There are just so many simpler fixes to this that it bothers me. The original post said if they continued bad behavior the punishment would be reinforced, why not make the original punishment be just playing 30 games and have the reinforced punishment be winning 30 games. Winning 30 and playing 30 is a LARGELY different number of games.

I'm not sure how well I conveyed my point but I hope some of you see it, I doubt this post will make a difference but I felt it needed to be posted.
