My friend that told me about this game is diamond 4, he said he said I'm going to end up in low bronze. Is there anything I can do to get placed higher? He told me there wasn't, but he also told me he won't play a ranked match with me because I suck. So I need an unbiased opinion.
Any tips?
Jbels1 votesIt's not that he won't play a ranked match with you, he literally can't. As a Bronze you can only play with Silvers, as a silver, you can only play with bronzes and Golds, and so on

Knight Sky1 votesJbels is right about that, but you can most certainly end up better then low bronze after provisionals. It ranges from Bronze 5 to Gold 5 being the highest you can get after provisionals. It all depends on your skill and how you do in those first 10 ranked games. The more wins and the better you do, the higher chance you get of ranking high, hope this helped! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
B00B001 votesYou can be placed as high as goldV on your first ever placement matches if you win all 10 generally 6-7/10 will get you silver 3-2 and 4-5 will be between B2 and SV it depends somewhat on what teams you beat and their ELO (electronic MMR basically for ease of understanding)
Tips;
don't rush into ranked play normals
find and "main" your best role
play normals and get great at 2-3 champs in said role
buy all T3 runes
have all mysteries correct
open.gg for replays to better you play and see what you did wrong (if serious about climbing)
objectives over kills
I cannot stress 7 enough if you have all outer turrets and are 9-20 down on kills you'll find your team is keeping up just fine so do not surrender.
Objectives and map pressure win the game not kills, kills help but prioatise the objectives over the kills

Bhagswag1 votesI don't know why people wanna play ranked so bad. Get good with a large champ pool, then show the world what your rank is. Don't rank if you have to ask.
Håppy1 votesThat's pretty demotivational. Hopefully your friend is offering you tips and tricks on what to do instead of saying "you suck" and stuff? Also, might your favorite champions happen to be Irelia and Wukong? I can offer advice on playing them up in the top lane.
