"Omg @2rito plants r stupid"

This plant system is becoming controversial for no reason. Stop begging riot to revert them before the preseason patch has even hit testing.

They gave reasons on why they made the changes to jungle, and they said if it doesn't go as planned they'll revert it to buff routes. Stop crying and wait to see how it actually plays out, rather than judging it on 10 second clips of them using it to their most optimal performance. There isn't going to be a blast cone every single time lee sin comes into your jungle. There isn't going to be a honey fruit every time someone uses a global ult. Players will find more uses of these plants (maybe using blast cone to get to camps faster? Scrying orb to help scout bushes?) and I'm sure they'll make it from pbe to live with tweaks. I really hope they a way to add more types of plants too, because the new system seems way more interactive then starting krugs and going to razor beaks because you can right click fast. XinZhao

Yeah, they gave a bunch of stupid excuses to include more RNG into their game because they know it's something audiences like to watch in tournaments. Just look at the Hearthstone competitive scene. People like watching it because of the RNG factor.

Furthermore RNG diminishes the skill aspect of the game and creates a homogenized "everyone gets to be a winner sometimes" environment that is conducive to maintaining a large multiplayer playerbase.

It's a bad idea, and I don't need to wait to point this out.

Riot introduced it as a way to not have "solved" problems in the Jungle, but the way I see it all of these plants are already solved problems.

  • Know how to use Ziggs's satchel charge? You've got easier decisions to make with the Blast Cone than with Satchel Charge, problem solved.
  • You know when you'd want to use a Sweeper or a ward? Congratulation, you know when to use the Scrying plant
  • Have you played ARAM? You've half mastered the Honey Fruit plant already! The other half of it is now going to know when to trigger it on your pursuing enemies so that they get slowed while you make your escape.

That doesn't sound particularly new, challenging, or even fun to be honest. If they're going to add plants, let them do something interesting, like create a space that can't be seen into or out of, or make it so you can't change your movement once you enter the space, or something we haven't already seen and figured out.

There's another problem with these plants replacing the Smite Buffs - It takes decision making and skill out of the Jungle position, giving it to everyone on the team instead. I know I suck at Jungle, but I like to think that my Jungler knows cool tips and tricks to get the most out of his PvE adventure as he comes to gank or take objectives. Removing the smite buffs makes it seem like he's just CSing with a summoner spell that helps him CS faster.

TL;DR: Plants don't look like they're offering anything really that new, while making the Jungle roll seem less awesome.
