They straight up removed ez's ap scaling on his q and gave him a very ap buff on his W. If they are going to remove AP from his main form of damage just make tear upgrades unique and you won't have to change anything about this champ. Ezreal is literally the only champion who can viably abuse this, so why not remove the edge case scenario instead of changing his numbers?
And make Gauntlet melee only.
Ezreal always find an item to abuse. He should be nerfed if they want to keep his weird and huge itemization choice.
They gave his Q AP ratio to his W. He doesn't lose anything but he need to hit his W to empower his Q now instead of doing pure damage only with Q. That's fine for me.
I think just make IBG melee and give it some compensation buffs while you're at it, almost no melee chooses it as is. Maybe increased slow, increased aoe size/duration, and/or increased slow duration. I'm personally fine with him farming until late to get double tear items, its low CD ranged aoe cc, never meant to be in his kit, that annoys me.
Building tear without building double tear is lame as hell tho.
Double Tear is a fun build on Ryze, it's not something they want to cut themselves off from entirely. They just need to make it weaker on Ez.
He has a roughly 48% win rate. :/ he isn’t broken. Simple way to beat Ezreal.

Um no i still have hope of double tear super late game champion if they ever give Jax and Warwick real base defenses and in a lower damage meta for Kha Zix. Ezreal needs nerfs to the character not just one play style. Adcs have gotten other things they abused gutted while they dont for a long time.
Oh boy they are giving his W a 130% ap ratio at rank 5, so basically instead of him doing sustained damage make him a burst mage.
Or a Jinx W crit test on PBE.
Huh... AP Ezreal is about the W anyways, the ratio on q was already bad, its main purpose is applying lichbane and proccing your w from a longer range.
If anyone who plays ap ezreal thinks removing the ap ratio off his Q is a gutting while adding nearly 50% more ap to his W is a gutting then you dont play ap ez. it does tone down his safety burst of W Q, while making his all in burst way stronger as if you get hit by W in lane your gonna lose about 75% of your hp to his W E combo.
I can't play AP ezreal anymore, since they reworked his W. I remember I used to be a lane bully mid, able to land W whenever they went to CS. Outrange all the mages and assassins who thought they were the hotness, thought they'd just spam waveclear. Carry hard af late game by constantly W across 3 people. No more. If you can't lane, you can't play the game, that's 2019.
