Nether Grasp vs Last Breath

I was in Top Lane vs Yasuo (a decent matchup for me, typically), and had gotten invaded by Teemo and brought to about 20% health. I crawl under my tower, trying to get away. I think we were level 7 or so. Yasuois less than half health. Yasuo drops Gathering Storm and hits. It seems like I land, hit Nether Grasp, and cooldown pops for Nether Grasp. I hear the sound for Nether Grasp...but then Yasuo hits Last Breath. I am somewhat certain I did damage with Nether Grasp, too, but somehow the Suppress portion did not kick in. Last Breath finishes me, and Yasuo gets away almost unscathed.

So what happened here? Is there a windup for the Suppress effect? Did he just get Last Breath off first and was untargetable? Can Last Breath go off a fraction of a second after the target lands? If so, how did it pop the cooldown if I couldn't target him? I have noticed other times when there seems to be a delay between the first tick of damage of Nether Grasp and the Suppress effect. Is this common? Did I just lag a little bit? Can anyone explain what happened here? Thanks.

P.S. I was Top Lane because Galio wanted to switch to lane vs. Lux ...didn't go well for him. I went even with Yas before bot got fed and things got out of control.

Of he throws his Q and interupts your nether grasp, it breaks the ult. Bad timing

How would he break the Ult if he was Suppressed? He did not have item 3140 or item 3139. My Nether Grasp went off after I landed from his Q.

I thought you meant you activated Nether Grap, and THEN his Q knocked you up.

If he throws his Q, then you ult him, it won't stop the twister from getting to you. That would interupt the supression because that is how Malz's ult designed. It only works as long as you are supressed yourself.

If you say your ult canceled AFTER his Q knocked you up, then I am not certain what could have done that beyond you jut double tapping R by accident.

As for item 3140 and item 3139 , It removes debuffs only, but not damage. So while the activation of these 2 items would make Mal'z or Warwick's target able to move again, the damage from your ults would still be applied unless they walked out of range of course.

Hope that helped you!

If you had fully landed from his Q he would not have been able to ult. I'm guessing the system still considered you knocked up.

But what about the Suppress? If I was still knocked up, how could my R target, activate, and go on cooldown? Without Suppressing him?

If the animation happened and it went on cooldown then its a bugged interaction. Yasuo cannot ult you if you're not knocked up and you cannot cast if you are.

Because everything puts Nether Grasp on cooldown, fiddliest ultimate in the game it feels like sometimes. If you press the button too many times trying to catch someone with it, the thing immediately shuts off and goes on cooldown.

Something similar happened yesterday while playing Lux: Zed comes from his base, i throw a Q at him, he W's right at that time and gets to teleport to his clone AFTER i snared him. So basically there must be a window of some sort(maybe there is not enough update rate), a few miliseconds that won't recognize his state(snared) if he also commanded something so he ends up executing the command even if he got hit first.

TL:DR Playing Lux, snare Zed while he casts first W, Zed gets snared but right after that teleports to shadow clone(still snared).
