If she does well, is it automatically 100% because the enemy is horrible?

It would be fine as long as she didn't feed.

I just don't see what Janna would at all be doing in a solo lane given how little-to-none kill pressure she has though.

Believe it or not, she has a very strong early game with W max and level 1 shield. With ignite, she has a surprising amount of kill pressure in lane.

And if you -do- get first blood as Janna mid, it sends the entire enemy team on tilt.

Even a good support Janna should be played somewhat aggressively, especially vs melee supports like Leona and Ali. If you play passively and sit back and shield, you're basically completely relying on your ADC to carry, when you could be making a huge impact yourself.

Taking a few early points in W, even bot lane, can help you dictate the flow of the lane, as opposed to being completely reactionary and waiting on the enemy to make a move.

Trust me, rush Frozen Heart vs any AD assasin. She doesn't need AP early; just mana to keep her shield up to Auto the enemy to death after you hit a W and Q.

This is good advice - I normally would rush Morellonomicon or Athene's first, but I always find myself at a disadvantage vs Talon & other AD mids. I'll try this next game, ty :)

Then again if she was a pro Janna it could be a breeze.

So long as she doesn't windtunnel vision and watch for ganks she could lane pretty well.

No, that'd be ridiculous and childish of me. I'd only report her if she, ya know, actually broke the rules intentionally.

Besides, Janna mid was a pro pick back in the day before it got nerfed hard. If someone could actually pull that off again, I'd be more impressed than tilted.

I have actually done it back in Season 5 against some of my friends. One of them was playing Zed and he could not do anything to me. I just E'd, W'd, auto'd, and walked away while his two Qs did nothing. Every time he tried to ult me, I just ulted back and Q'd him if he tried to use W to get closer. It was hilarious how he was so frustrated.

As far as I'm concerned, people can play whatever they want in my ranked games so long as they are legitimately trying to win with it and not completely ruining it for their allies.

Unusual picks are not trolling. Actual trolling is playing to intentionally lose and/or annoy your teammates as much as possible.

Pick jungle Teemo if you think you can win with it. Just don't pick Draven as "bottom", build AP items, and follow your jungler around for the entire game trying to steal their camps.

Just keep in mind that Riot historically has a problem with Janna's lane interaction, when she lanes. Mainly because her primary wave clear, ramps up over time, and is pretty much fire and forget.

She's only a troll pick because Riot kept her that way. And if you do find a way to make her work, Riot will probably fix it.

Yeah it's trolling cause you can pick mid laners with actual kill pressure, and ones that can carry. It's like going Janna jungle, who cares if it works once or twice, it's just not the best optimal idea. You should be playing your best.

Janna can carry - but not through nuking like a typical AP mid. Although I disagree with her having no kill pressure in lane.

She's a utility mid with very high AP ratios. If you build her like a typical AP mid, she's going to have 600+ HP shields that give over 100 AD, and can be basically spammed to give someone a constant shield. She also heals 1.5k dmg to every single person with her ult. With Luden's and AP, her Q makes her a splitpush machine, as well.

She carries by canceling all of the damage of the enemy, and boosting her own team, far more than she would in the typical support role.

People think in such null-dimensional terms. Janna isn't very aggressive in lane, but her Q can hurt like hell, and she can actually support the jungler if and when they gank.

Not to mention the utility she brings once the lanes open up. But no, people want to just be able to kill fast and by themselves. Hence the assassin blight.

I suppose it would be fine as long as we have plenty of damage coming from other picks. Definitely not something that should be picked every game. I'm generally fine with most weird picks as long as they make some sense for the particular game.
