Ezreal's Interaction with Rageblade

Hi everyone. Recently i tried out Ezreal and built Rageblade on him to test the interaction with it and his Q. When you get max stacks of rageblade, Ezreal's Q will apply the AoE proc but it will not add to stacks. Ezreal's Q counts as a ranged auto-attack so I was wondering why it doesn't apply stacks of Rageblade but will apply the AoE effect? Could this be a bug or is this for balance?

Edit: "Guinsoo's Rageblade can be stacked quickly using Mystic Shot.png Mystic Shot. On cast, it procs one stack, and procs a second stack if it hits the target." taken from http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Ezreal/Strategy

This just confuses me more, but it could be referring to the old Rageblade.

The stacking effect on Rageblade is OnAttack rather than OnHit to prevent Wolfy from stacking it instantly with his Ult and insta-gibbing people.

Q applies on hit effects such as tforce. It is not a auto attack

Guinsoo's Rage is an on-hit effect like Trinity Force's Spellblade. I don't know how you can justify Spellblade but not Guinsoo's Rage.

The on hit effect when fully stacked is on hit the stacking mechanic is not

Yeah I'm seeing what you mean. I thought you were meaning the effect itself, not the additive stack increase.

Really? I've only tried it once, but I was pretty sure it maintained stacks as well as built them.
