Weird stat building on kayle.

So i'm fairly new (bronze 3) and I've recently picked up kayle. Experimenting with a few builds made me curious and I went into the training practice tool thing. I was surprised to find that the most effective builds, based on damage at least were ones where I build full attack speed and crit. Now this is weird to me as none of the builds I saw of kayle online have had crit or max attack speed. Furthermore, none of the builds I saw online built tank so it's not like they sacrifice as or crit for tankiness.

So in short, why can I not build weird stats on kayle/why isn't it viable? Example would be: Phantom dancer, statikk shiv, runaans, 2 nashors and a rabadon.

Is there a more effective build other than those found online? I'm in love with attack speed so I pretty much want any build I make to have 2.5 AS, is there any way to do that and still have kayle do a lot of damage?

Any help is appreciated.

Normal build for Kayle:

item 3115 item 3006 item 3085 item 3001 item 3124 item 3100

I used to main Kayle for months, and I actually used to do the same thing as you. My build would be item 3115 item 3115 item 3115 item 3124 item 3085 item 3116.

But you find out later on that its not the best. I have gotten a lot of penta with my build, but have hardly gotten any with the main build. But the main build gives you better overall stats, you get magic resist, more cooldown reduction, movement speed, etc.

Don't use multiple item 3115 . You never build multiple of the same item because of unique passives. For instance on Nashor's item 3115 the CD and extra magic damage on AA's are unique passives, that means they will not stack with multiple of the item. You will only receive the 80 AP and 50% AS because you can't receive the passives more than once.

Also you should know that a unique passive with a name will not stack with another unique passive of the same name even if it's on a different item. For example both item 3156 and item 3053 have passives named "lifeline." you can only proc one of the passives at any given time, so buying both those items together is generally a bad idea.

there is one thing to consider though

how much damage do you actually need to do your job?

and while crit and as are good on kayle eventually you gotta back that up with ad or ap in kayle case

your build might be uber effective in late game but it aint gonna do anything if it's shit before you get to 4 items, you should at least be capable of contributing before then and your build should have flexible build paths too for if you need to adjust on the fly

and if you can do your job with for example 3 damage items then why build 5

sometimes defense becomes better then building more offense since you need to actually be alive to deal damage in the first place if you can go deeper or position more risky with defensive items and get twice the hits in you just doubled your damage output which is a concept a lot of people seem to have trouble understanding

even if you don't need much defense you can still opt for utility to boost your teams effectiveness making them capable of outputting more damage/support/tank to further your goals which will also help a lot

to clarify

if you need to deal over 1000 damage to kill someone then building 2000 isn't going to be any better then building 1001 damage if you can reach that point with 4 items for example item 3006 item 3085 item 3116 item 3115 then you might as well build item 3190 after

Kayle has an ap scalings on her heal spell as well as her damage. Also you can only auto in melee range if your e goes on cooldown, "why focus tanky champ?"

How are you going to get enough cdr on ad kayle?

item 3124item 3006item 3085 item 3031 item 3508 item 3146 no spell blade.

With scaling glyphs maybeitem 3124item 3158 item 3085item 3031 item 3087 item 3146 but the e will have a downtime with just 25% cdr. Also no spell blade.
