Just finished another coin flip platinum game. My akali top went 0/4 in lane and typed that he didnt' care all game. Eventually he afked. Mid won. Jungle won. Bot won. Didn't matter 4 v 5.

If I cared to I could post about another 40 games in my recent match history with similar teammates. 0/14 adcs. 0/9 jungles.

If I had to estimate, I would say less than half of ranked games are even competitive. You either coinflip a landslide victory or you coin flip a landslide loss.

Skill only matters when the differential is insanely high. If you're a challenger player and you're smurfing in plat I'm sure you can win most of your games. If you're a plat or diamond player smurfing in plat you better hope some luck is on your side because you're gonna be grindin!

I'm honestly pretty bored. At one point I was angry, but it just seems sad and pathetic now. Every single game is just a coin flip because of the prevalence of trolls.

Does anyone actually give a shit about ranked in this season?

100% about 20-25% of the player base should not be playing the game.

Its not that they are bad. Its that they are toxic to a match. Bad players can improve and in a lot of case are trying. Toxic players Troll, afk, int feed or throw.

I'm not saying Plat is high elo, but you know it technically is. It's the top 10% of so League players. I'm not sure how people are in plat who troll. How do you win enough games to be in plat while trolling?

They really need to incorporate a statistics system to LP gains. If over a large sample size of games you average 5 cs as a mid laner in Platinum, for example, you should get hit with an LP penalty. Or if you're consistently dying in lane every game. Or any other number of statistical indicators that somebody is misranked.

It blows my mind that people can join a game and go 0/14 and actually be a platinum level player. I understand having a "bad" game. But I'm a platinum level player and I think in the last 300 some games I've played I've had one game where I was like 2/11, and I was 1/0/5 in lane that game. My mid fed out their ass and I kept dying to an assassin mid during the mid/late game as a support. So either I'm significantly above a platinum skill level and I'm misranked because I don't ever play that badly, or the people in plat are misranked because they do play that badly. Either way the matchmaking is fucked because I look at people's match histories and they feed out their ass like every other game and they're plat 2.

I am not sure I would put it on CS, as there are some champs better than others at CS (or some that are more or less dependent), but I agree with your overall ideas. The ranking system is broken AF right now. There are so many people in higher ranks that are toxic and horrible, while some amazing players are struggling this season to move anywhere due to the lottery nature of the game right now. I have been gold and plat until the last 2 seasons, and I just don't even care anymore. It started last season and has just gotten worse this season. It just isn't worth slugging through anymore.

Because I decided I’d attempt to hit atleast gold this season I went into ranked.

Yeah. 8/9 games I had a soft inting botlane. I wish I was exaggerating here.

And the one game I didn’t it was a rofl stomp. Like bad hard stomping.

I was plat 3 last season. I legitimately could not climb out of gold as a support player this season. I had to go mid. The players just int too much. I never remember gold being as bad as it is this season.

I think the entire ladder is just fucked. We have people at grossly incorrect ranks. Sometimes you can carry them. Sometimes you can't. The only fix is to grind a fuckload of games and keep a positive mental attitude. It's pretty fucking miserable.

Right? I didn’t think it would be nearly as miss matched as normal games are. But somehow it’s actually worse.

This is the first season I've actually tried to climb so maybe it's just my perspective. I've played since season 1 and got gold every season almost instantly. At the end of last season I climbed to plat 3 out of boredom and stopped.

This season I wanted to make a rush to diamond and it's been absolutely miserable. I have some things I need to work on, but its mostly mental. I swear every game is just trolls in my recent match history.

Its really nothing compared to season 6. Remember going up against 5 man premades in Ranked, or being the solo guy on a team with 4 people? Those games were way more "coinflip" than anything we've had since.
