Mana Awareness

Can we work on it, please? I can't count the number of times where I'm playing either bot lane role and my partner decides to go in without checking my mana bar and then dies because I literally can't follow up. Same goes for when I'm either top or mid and my jungler comes in with half hp for a gank and feeds my lane opponent because again, he didn't check my mana bar and know that I'm incapable of following up. I DO try to type out 'oom' whenever physically possible but sometimes these things happen so impulsively (especially in bot lane) that I don't even have a chance to do that before they jump in and take unnecessary damage, especially when I'm too busy doing whatever I *can *do to salvage the situation (such as use summoners, which I can't do if I open up the chatbox). If nothing else I try to ping 'danger' but the likelihood of people understanding why I'm doing that is slim because mana awareness is sooo low at my elo (I'm silver, not sure if it's a problem elsewhere but it's a big problem here).

Not really sure what to do about it except urge people to be more aware of your teammates (and your enemies, since y'know - knowing when your enemy can't fight back is just as game changing) mana because it's a huge factor in how things will play out. I'd suggest a 'Out of Mana' ping that can be used on both allies and enemies but I'm not sure if that's too specific/cluttered. Does anyone have any experiences with this problem or just any other ideas to better communicate mana awareness?

I just use the fall back and danger pings if I am not ready for them to gank. Honestly ganks are also unnecessary unless your turret is at risk.

oom = out of mana. If people dont see others are oom, they lose out, just like not looking on the map.

to be fair it is kinda hard to see the mana bar

Its kinda small compared to how large the health bar is

Sounds like you need to work on your mana management as well.

You should never run OoM through just poke/harass. You'll run into situations where your allies could have capitalized on something and you don't have the resources to contribute anything.

Try to keep enough mana for at least an ultimate handy. Never know when you need to QWER something. Even as heavy AA reliant champions like Vayne and Tristana.

Also, noticing an opponent is OoM is probably the biggest green light to go ham on them. All they have is summoner spells and auto-attacks at their disposal. You don't need a 2 second silence when your opponent imposed a 45 second silence on themselves.

Anyways, it cuts both ways.

Things happen, so it's handy to check the resources of allies (and especially enemies) before making plays,

But you should also pay careful attention to managing your own resource bars.

Your best bet is to use fallback ping. If they keep going DESPITE you saying back off, that is THEIR choice. You tried to communicate with them and they chose to ignore your intentions, so they chose to feed.
