Tank supports

Alright, let me preface this by saying I don't care if something is a vanguard or a warden or a bruiser etc. I'm specifically talking about beefier supports who have the ability to take a lot of abuse for their team. Braum, Naut, Blitz, etc.

I typically see that the build paths for most of these champs include the standard support items like Redemption and Locket which is what I usually do. However, it seems like if you have a team full of squishies (because believe it or not, in bronze we seem to have a tough time looking at our own team comp/setup) it would be more useful to go with a traditional tank build.

Would it be better if your team has no traditional tank or anybody building defense to skip Redemption and Locket and goes for like a Randuins and SV? i know there would be the money issue and how pricey they are on support income, but it's gotta be better than a few hundred health and some average armor/mr and quick shield.
