Bronze is best!

I see so many posts every day talking about how bronze is such shit and bronzes are dumb. Hell in League the word bronze carries a heavy connotation with someone who sucks.

I'd like to point out that there are some totally redeeming things about bronze.

  1. any champion is feasible in nearly any role. Bronze has it's own meta of OP champs that revolves more around simplicity and infinite stacking (Veigar, Nasus) than it does a high skillcap or good macro play. This makes it fun because there's so much more variety and you can't just pick and counter pick.

  2. either team could win at almost any time. Ever been up/down by like 11k gold with an exposed nexus and then won the next 3 team fights? That's some bronze level shit and happens a lot more often than it should.

  3. there's a lot more killing. Let's face it, there's something fun about killing the enemy. It's more satisfying than taken turrets and grabbing another boring cloud drake. Don't get me wrong, those things typically are far more important to the overall advantage for your team, but we don't understand that... so we'll chase that Singed 3/4 of the way around the map while the enemy bangs on those boring turrets. Seriously though, which would you rather watch, a 9-5 pro game or a 22-16 bloodbath?

Anyways, these are just a few things I actually enjoy about bronze and may actually miss just a smidgen when I get out... but I'll probably realize it's the same in silver, but with bigger egos. :/

LMAO bronze is something else... It's like a completely different game. It has it's own meta and it's own tier list and my bronze sister consistantly states yi is OP and how he stomps her game while the yi's annie mid teammate proceeds to build hexdrinker and triforce. Truely fascinating

Unfortunately, it's the same in Silver and Gold.

I don't mind being in Bronze simply because I can play whatever I want and it doesn't even matter, because it's Bronze lol. And Sona is 100% viable and slightly OP in Bronze, so I can play my favorite champion while having fun and not worrying about anyone flaming me for playing Sona (which apparently is a thing? Guess I'm too low of an elo for that).

Sure, Bronze is toxic as hell, but where else could you win a 50 minute 3v5 game? Only in Bronze, where the enemy team is a sack of potatoes and your two other teammates just so happened to have brains (or were smurfing).

Actually Sona is viable even in Diamond. Just picked her up again couple of days ago. Grinded to D4 with Sona and Karma. 86% win rate on Sona.

Bless. If I ever make it that far up the ladder, I can still play her. XD

Honestly would recommend you play mid or jungle to climb the ladder. Supporting before P3 is just a nightmare.

I can attest to this as a BIV in Solo B3III in flex. But it's a part of the game. I think it's about tenacity and the willingness to learn. For me I enjoy the process of the game from wins/losses to trying new builds ECT. The more I play the less I notice toxic peeps, unless the go out of their way to be a jerk. The thing that bothers me still, is how casually people throw 'KYS' out there as if it's acceptable. If I could change one thing it might be that.

I had a friend who took his life when I was in highschool. I remember the damage to his family and I still see the pain in them and me sometimes after 22 years.

The thing we all should consider us this; we can't know what the psychological state of anyone you play with. With that in mind take the toxicity down a bit and instead offer advice. See this guide here or watch this streamer ECT.

Her win rate is greater than 50% from Bronze to Diamond last I checked.

I don't agree with everything you say, but I can say this:

During the greatest game of my life, I gained massive respect for a player on my team. He was bronze. I respect him more than most of my friends who are in silver and gold. I'll always remember that game, and how we won, mostly because of a bronze player.

It is well known that people in Bronze fight with a lot of honour and conduct themselves with great civility.

Flaming, AFK-ing, trolling, taunting, and offensives memes like "GIT GUD" or "Team's too Heavy" are the exception rather than the norm.

At the beginning one person says, "May the best player win." Then they play a game where everyone knows what they are doing whilst pinging and assisting each other, typing out lines of strategy here and there. If someone gets a kill, there is no tilting. There is just a simple, "Well Played Sir."

Usually games end punctually in 20 mins if there is a clear advantage (there is no hesitation to FF if the game is lost, because everyone understands there is always a game after); if there is a chance, they fight on.

Bronze people play to win, but they are also prepared to lose. They also treat each other as members of the gentry and brothers in the same noble profession. It is truly a great place.

...

or not

I like how you can run TLD Vladimir in Bronze (and if you know what you are doing) just COMPLETELY DESTROY

like COMPLETELY...

Like 1 vs 5 completely destroy...

Bronze is a lot of fun. I know a lot of people have the "ranked is supposed to be about winning, not fun" mentality, but I doubt higher elos let games go past an hour because neither team knows how to finish. Bronze is great because nobody has a clue what they're doing, and it's all just down to whoever smashes their buttons the best.

  1. is so true too. If one of my friends can run ADC Lulu (yes ADC, not APC) and do well, then pretty much anything goes.
Paquay1 votes

Yeah, it can be a blast. There's something special in bronze watching people do ridiculous stuff and making it work.

Also something special with taking baron, getting an ace, and then immediately overextending, getting wiped out and losing the game. Haha.

I fully agree on all points, after the season 6 reset I went to bronze despite winning alot of my placement matches, I could actually play anything I wanted there and still wreck face. In that regard, bronze was fun as fuck and in that sense, I wish the rest of the ranked environment was more like bronze.

  1. Someone disconnects/lags almost every game

  2. People knowingly build/do stupid shit because "I'll build what I want"

  3. Someone starts flaming almost every game

You know, I don't run into nearly as much toxicity and afks and stuff like that as the boards make it out. I really think it's hyperbole, and people just feel like because it's bronze it's the norm.

I would venture to guess that statistically speaking bronze is about as toxic as most every other elo, but it's viewed differently because... well bronze.

Vizulix2 votes

Yeah I've noticed Bronze V people are actually less toxic than Platinums. I know this from personal experience as most plats I've run into a toxic people who wish your mother died from aids. People in Bronze though, troll a lot more. They aren't technically trolling though as they are trying but just.... Incompetent. I once had this brand who didn't know how to play Brand so he only had 5 doran rings by 20 minutes. He was a really pleasant guy and we could tell he was trying hard. Even though he lost us the game everyone on my team was chill. Afterward I friended him and recommended he go on websites like Probuilds, Op.gg, champion.gg, and youtube to find builds.

4 and 5 are not true, for me atleast

The problem with bronze is that you have a handful of people that don't belong there that are held back by incompetent teammates. Solo carrying gets harder the more you climb at in silver 3 I'm finding it almost impossible especially when my teammates don't listen to anything I say or just don't know what they're doing.

Nothing beats the feeling of stomping a game as a Bronze V, and yelling "IM A BOOSTED ANIMAL"

Backup4now1 votes

IMO diamond is below bronze. Me and my ranked buddies regularly joke about intentionally tanking our mmr to play in bronze.

Seyfti1 votes

Whatever makes you feel better buddy.

TimX24968B1 votes

honestly, I believe any champ is viable with any build in any role IF YOU KNOW HOW TO UTILIZE IT (at all play levels).

FOHG Loggy1 votes

another great example. I just played my promo game, I did good but my mid went 1/9 and top went 0/8, they ended before 20. Gotta love fucking bronze RIGHT?! the 1/9 mid continued to call me bad Cause I mained support

Only 22-16? That's awfully generous
