List of Champs to ban and not ban in One For All -- for and by the Summoners
I thought I'd make a list of all Champs I really know and put them down, as well as reasons why they're ban-worthy or not. I also ask for you all to list down Champs you think are good bans or not, and why they are or aren't, so this will be updated often with all your guys' answers. Note that Karthus and Teemo are obiously going to not be present, seeing as they're perma-banned in OFA already.
Manditory Bans - this list is comprised of Champions that are so powerful in One For All that it's always a play-or-ban situation for them
: A well-rounded team of Blitzcranks can grab a champ, and nothing but a lucky Flash can get away from getting demolished by a storm of Blitz Ults. Crowd Control, like with Veigar or Bard, can deal with this Champ but it only really matters how well the Blitzcranks know their Champ.
: Being able to slip away from a lot of damage gives a good Fizz player tons of sustain all game, and his AP is off the charts Late Game if he gets fed.
: His ability to absolutely delete Champs and move quickly means that Pincer Attacks from multiple Hecarims are deadly. Unless you can outplay them, I doubt it's possible to even escape from them.
: This one needs no explanation, it's the Donger.
: A few Katarinas can dominate teamfights with their Ult, and her E gives her a lot of maneuverability.
: Lux's Qs, Es, and Rs offer enough damage and CC that it's very uncomfortable to find a good way to fight her in a teamfight.
: No one really knows how to play as or against him in OFA yet, but his abilities work so well with other copies of him that it might as well be 1 Super-Ryze. Also, a dedicated teamfighting team can effectively and efficiently use his Ult to move quickly across the map, almost disregarding the need for Teleport which is so highly picked in OFA.
: Veigar's CC and Passive are already powerful, but multiple Veigars just spell trouble. I don't even need to explain this either.
: It might as well be renamed "teamslaughter" when dealing with multiple Volibears, even Early Game he can quickly take the lead because of how often they'll toss their opponents around.
Good/Great Bans - this list is comprised of Champions that play very well together, but aren't necessary to ban and are able to be countered with strategy and teamwork
: Her E and Q are deadly in and out of teamfights, but these are pretty much her only redeeming qualities unless her R's up. Burst her down and avoid getting caught by her E and you're good to go.
: He starts off strong against most champs, and once you get the hang of using his Q it's hard for your opponents to go much without taking some damage.
: He's really weak Early Game, especially when you exhaust his Mana (or at least make him use his Silence and Fear). However, Mid-to-Late Game gives the scarecrow HUGE damage -- especially if multiple Fiddlesticks use it at the same time.
: It's scary facing this guy, especially if you get Silenced and they're just assalting your Champ for .5 seconds before you die. Also, his Passive makes him a chore to take down if he's building Tank.
: So many tentacles...playing smartly as her deals a lot of damage with her, and it's been proven she can outsustain quite a lot of Champs if she Ults in a 1v5 teamfight.
: The ability to make any 1 Champ go invulnerable for a short time, AND can AA really effectively? This is more of a matter of who builds what, a few build offensively and the rest build supportively and your game is set.
: She has a high learning curve, but she's dangerous and confusing to fight against.
: While he's powerful and versatile enough to be put in Manditory, his outrageous learning curve makes him look quite the opposite. However, even with that he's still able to chew ass and kick bubblegum...and a good Lee Sin already ran out of ass a long time ago. Kudos to you if you know who I'm copying that from. Still, he's incredibly powerful and shouldn't be underestimated especially since he can kick you to tower or his teammates.
: Thanks to her Ult's new Passive, she gets a steep power spike on her damage potential and sustain. However, she can't survive very well by herself and once one falls they fall like dominos. Still, you should be wary of her especially because of the long AoE stun they all can use.
: Due to his W and E, Taric is pretty powerful in this mode. Due to his Passive and Ult, however, he gains even more power because he and his teammates can ignore tower damage and take large chunks of health away from them. If you and your teammates get stuck in multiple Es, just run away and regroup.
: Like Ryze, her abilities mix extremely well with other Tristanas attacking your target. While she is squishy due to her Marksman and Assassin classes, she gains increasing range and her kit gives her so much damage potential. Her most successful way to deal damage is by going AD, but Hybrid works a lot of the time too. If you want to harass towers, building AP is also a strong way to go...so to be honest there isn't a real way to build against her unless you're Rammus.
: With his W including a targeted Stun, as well as his Q penetrating targets, he's certainly a danger to face in teamfights. His Ult gives him a lot of mobility as well, and its first Active gives Sight of the enemy so your teammates will be able to know if a gank or something similar is coming -- or if you just want to gank yourself.
: His Passive's shield and W prevent a lot of ranged damage from hitting him, and his Q, E, and Ult are equally dangerous to face especially in a teamfight. He's especially dangerous with his Q and Ult because multiple Rs increase the time you stay airborne, which means other Yasuos have more time to engage with their Ults.
Neutral Bans - this list is comprised of Champions that don't have too much synergy but can play well together, so it doesn't really matter whether they get banned or not
: This could be placed in either Good or Bad, it depends on how well your teammates know Akali. Unfortunately, Akali is a Champ that only knows assassination and can't really do much of anything else. However, at least she's more versatile than Zed down below.
: He's not very good at pushing towers and has a high learning curve, and you can hide behind minions to avoid his Qs. Be wary of his E and Ult, and try not to stay in the middle when you spawn as a team effort can easily spawnkill you.
: Her Q and R in this mode is insane, but she has no mobility and her Early Game damage is dependent solely on her Q. Her E is very annoying against Mages or CC-using Champs, but it doesn't block physical damage and can be broken so don't be afraid to burst her down when the time comes.
: She's a Melee Champ, but her E's stun, W's MS buff and Dash negation, Q's double hit, and Ult's huge knock-up make her pretty huge in a team of her. I doubt you can really do much against more Tanky or mobile Champs like Malphite or Fizz, or Ranged Champs like Tristana and Varus, but she's on the list of Champs you don't want to underestimate when push comes to shove.
Bad Bans - this list is comprised of Champions that play awfully bad together, and shouldn't be picked as Champs to play in OFA let alone banned from it
: He's a slow Melee, his kit relies on him eating (and he loses those stacks on dying), and his Silence has some wonky physics most of the time. He does have his Ult and Q, but I would save the former as a finishing move. You won't be very successful, but you could get lucky if the enemy team has a hard-to-play Champ like Fiora.
: "Karma"
: This is another Champion that can use your allies' attacks for your benefit. Unfortunately, it's not really that good...especially since she runs out of mana pretty quickly. She's pretty deadly during the Late Game, but only if your team manages not to feed.
: He can deal a lot of damage, and he has CC from his E and Ult, but he has no mobility and really depends on staying as far away as possible from the enemy because he's so fragile. I would put him in Neutral, but any powerful Champ ALWAYS preys on mobility issues which makes Varus more bad than good here.
Wasted Bans - this list is comprised of Champions that are so bad that playing as them will often result in teammates immediately getting toxic at the Banner, and should only be banned to prevent your teammates and enemy team from wasting a half hour of fun away
: Her kit is designed to cut her health to restore to her allies...which means that her W isn't effective at all for keeping everyone at top health. She's not offensive anymore, her AoE Silence/Root W is hard to successfully land (this also counts for her Q), so her only saving grace is her Ult...which only delays the inevitable anyhow. I guess you could build AD Crit Soraka, I've heard that's pretty good nowadays, but I wouldn't count on her.
: He has NO mobility. He has NO natural AP growth. He's slow as hell, needs to charge up half his abilities, and he's just plain bad. In normal Summoner's Rift he's pretty cool, but when all your teammates are Xerath you know you're going to end up feeding no matter who your opponents are. Unless they're Xerath as well. Hell, even Soraka does well against him.
: This is more because he has an insanely high learning curve to be able to be effective AT ALL. He's a one-trick pony who only knows how to assassinate (like Akali above), and when your teammates don't know how to play and they feed it just makes it that much harder to play as him. If your whole team is full of Zed-maniacs, go for it and hope for the best...but I think he's just not good at all in this Mode. Unless your opponent is Xerath.
I hope that we could start getting more Champion lists for Game Modes. We need an actual full guide on these, and we just don't have any. I for one hate having to waste 20 minutes because my teammates didn't know the Champs they locked in are actually pretty shitty for the Mode. Again, like I said at the top this will be updated as often as people have more Champs to put down. I'll be giving the proper credit to those that give the information (unless that info was already said by myself or someone else first), so don't be afraid to list whatever down. I want to help our community so we don't have to deal with these wasted games, so I ask the community helps out with this :)
