Ever hear about the man with two wolves fighting inside him?
One wolf was the representation of hate, of negativity, of anger, of malcontent.
The other wolf was the representation of love, of positivity, of satisfaction, of fun.
Which wolf wins? The one that the man feeds.
There's so much hate and negativity and anger and malcontent in the League community right now. So many people are jumping into the circle jerk and complaining about how League is dying, how Riot aren't listening to them, how one champion or another is broken and needs to be deleted, complaining about how League is being balanced around pro-play while simultaneously also complaining about how it's being balanced for casuals, etc.
Meanwhile there's not enough people talking about how much they love this game and how much joy and positivity it's brought into their lives. I met some of my closest and dearest friends through League of Legends. When I was sad and struggling through some tough times, playing League of Legends cheered me up and made me fall in love with it over and over again with how much new content Riot puts out every patch.
Not enough people talk about how satisfying and fun it is to make crazy outplays and insane jukes, to gank an overextended enemy and flash Mastery Emote at him after killing him, to save your ADC with a sliver of HP, to make that clutch TP play that nets you a triple kill, etc.
Not enough people actively contemplate just how many champion memes and complaints Riot listened to and have put to rest over the years. Irelia finally got reworked instead of nerfed every patch; Graves got his cigar back and was revealed to be a vaper at one point; Devourer got axed and Xin Zhao got reworked so that he doesn't delete your entire team; Aatrox isn't a steaming pile of garbage salad with extra garbage sauce anymore; Kassadin became actually playable instead of banned 97% of the time; Teemo doesn't automatically 3/4 your hp with a single shroom; It's actually possible to counter Elise in game instead of using Raid Bug Spray irl; 10 Black Cleavers per game isn't a thing anymore; the game actually has Junglers right now instead of double Relic Shield side lanes; Twisted Fate's teleport is on his Ult instead of his E, etc.
It's not just champion balance either. Solo Queue doesn't give you hour-long timers anymore; You get matched with roughly against players at the same skill level instead of the practically free-for-all fiesta back in Seasons 1 and 2; Master/Challenger ladder exist now instead of forcing us to constantly play against newbie Diamond players; In-client replay system exists now; We get so many free skins and champions from boxes and events; etc.
To say that Riot doesn't listen is an absolute lie.
It's like so many people in the community actually WANT League to die and go out of their way to bad mouth it. They look for confirmation online and are emboldened when others join the circle jerk. They constantly feed the bad wolf.
Is League perfect? Of course not. But it sure as hell is a far better game than the majority. Name any other free to play game out there where the developers have put out as much content and patches and effort and dedication as Riot have for the past 9 years. I absolutely love this game and I'll be damned if I let people continue to bad mouth it over and over again while glossing over all of its good aspects.
This is me feeding the good wolf. I hope even just one other person agrees with me here, because I need all the help I can get.
