Does anyone else find this unfair?

It's your typical mid lane match up with a mage vs AD assassin.

Typically the mage is going to rush Zhonya and the AD assassin is gonna rush Maw to minimize enemy harass. But take a look at the first components; Hexdrinker and Seeker's Armguard.

Why does the seeker starts up with lesser armor that needs to be built up over time with CS while hexdrinker already gets it's lifeline passive fully functional from the get go?

Currently most mages are severely boned due to how imbalanced lethality is but I recently realized this little nugget and feeling that everytime someone said 'Riot is unfair towards mages' they were actually right.

dont worry, riot knows maw is too strong, and has been too strong for a while, the argument youre making even further stresses the need for a tune down on this item.

For 165 gold you are getting an extra cloth armor worth 300 gold and 15 ap worth 326 gold which can be stacked in 5 mins ( 30 cs in 5 mins fair enough ? ) I think the people who should be complaining are the ones making Jaurim's Fist

Hexdrinker should have passive removed, or at least the shield nerfed by a fair bit.
