blitzcrank has been #1 support at all elo's for awhile yet no one speaks of him but yet everyone complains about brand and malazhar who keeps going up and down by patch (they have really inconsistent winrate usually going from 51 to 49 by patch) I think taking some poke is better than losing 60% of hp if you get out of position for a second (or If blitz is a god)

Aimléss1 votesAnd the worst part about brand is not his W, its the fact that bot lane has 2 people which means E and R alone can proc his passive at level 6. And that's only 1/2 of his abilities yet it'll do far more than half of an adc or squishy sups hp for free, Even if brand is caught out and about to die, he'll shoot out E R and probably W as a bonus in 0.5 seconds, killing the adc who's mistake was literally only leaving the fountain.
Aimléss3 votesThe reason Blitzcrank has a good win rate is because he counters the mage supports that are currently the meta atm. And mage support winrates are lower also because after they make the laning phase a living hell, they then go into mid-late game and provide very little peel for their adc that ends up getting dived upon left and right.
This is why ADC's and everyone else hates them so damn much. They make laning phase way more difficult than it needs to be and provide some of the worst peel out of all the support champs.

Tupaco1 votesIt's not that he counter mage supports exclusively it's that he counters botlane itself I wouldn't say mages made him #1 but squishy champions themselves. it's also doesn't help that most adcs aren't mobile
Aimléss1 votesHe does counter Soraka and Janna supports, as he should since that's what he was designed to do. He wasn't designed to counter mage supports cause they weren't supposed to be there. Now that they're there surprise surprise, he counters them too. And now his win rate is inflated because of it. No one plays Leona or ali anymore (his counters) so there you have it. It's not like he's op.
Tupaco1 votesI personally perma-ban him just cause he prevents me from playing support the way I feel in love with the role. I always felt blitz lanes are really oppressive due to the lane it self starts to revolve around not being in front of blitz and I also hate the feeling of not being able to outplay if you get q'd once as a non-tanky support.
Aimléss1 votesThen play a support with cc like Zyra or Nami, if you don't want to play a tank and cc him everytime he tries to run at you guys, then proceed to melt his ass.
