Riot, tank Fizz Top is coming back...

It's been creeping up in both WR and PR normally I welcome old things to meta but fizz is a exception. Basically he is at a point his AP build/ his damage is too bad for preforming assassinations and thus he resorts to Base stats and Tank items or tank items are too strong (which I don't think is the case personally). Please don't let this become meta again I've experienced it in s5 on an old account and it was a horrible few patches to play top.

I don't recall assassins building these Items.

Edit: His play rate is at 1% and rising I'm probably fucked as a brand and karma main...

Thats why I play it, but sadly when it becomes meta Rito is probably just gonna nerf both builds like in 6.12 feelsbadman

Yea the fish can't catch a break knowing riot they'll probably just nerf and nerf with compensation. Or what I hope they do is buff ap and change his kit around to have reliable damage

crap i hated this almost as much as tank ekko,I don't get how is this still a thing he lost his percent health damage and his damage amp how the hell can he does this. Although your point on his ap build being weak is wrong since he still has a positive winrate going ap mid, and a relatively high playrate, this seems like the argument made by supporters of tank ekko saying he can't be played ap while it is just harder

He also lost all his reliability to do dmg , bwfore the rework Fizz had w to resort to for fail-safe dmg, now he needs to wait 2 sec to do any real dmg. So fizz tank, with base ap runes, works much better than ap fizz. You can survive long enough to prock w one or twice. Also when tank he is not so dependant on hitting his ult to do his combo.

So the problem with fizz now is that he is too unreliable, abilities have way too long cooldowns and no guaranteed dmg/ execute he can fall back on. Before you could aa and use the dot if your cdrs were down. Now if you don't one shot someone you are useless for the next 6+ sec depending if you have 45% cdr.

They really ruined him with assassin update IMO most reworks delayed burst and added counterplay (except talons).

Am I really the only prefering to play against Tank Fizz instead of AP Fizz?

Tank Fizz feels so much better because he doesn't blow up people from untargetability! And being able to quickly maneuvering through a TF using multiple Qs and Es while the main DMG comes from AAs feels so much better considering the Champions idendity and Lore!

From my point oif view Fizz should never be an Assassin - he should be a nimble AP-Fighter, but since this class is not viable due to a lack of Items and the way MagicDMG works there's only Tank or AP. And I prefer Tank as I said.

On r/FizzMains a rioter said that they don't like ap fighters and that it will probably never happen.

I agree that Fizz would be better as a skirmisher and diver than a squishy ap assassin.
